re: The Business of Fitness - PurpleandGold Motown
well that was stupid
Why? It was a track scholarship. I had academic scholarships too. I was tired of running. I was tired of being 6'3 145 lbs. I didn't know how I felt about being coached by someone else other than my father. I was talented, but not elite talent. So, no matte...
You wear tights when you run?
They came up on the search for men's running clothing. I used to wear them when I ran competitively. They helped when it was cold, wet and raining at 6am. Warmer and no chafing....
you can buy a pair of free runs for $60 if you dont insist of having the absolute latest pair.
More expensive the shoe, the more expensive the surgery. My Dad always told me that, and over the years he's been proven right. Over 30 years as a track and basketball coach, he noticed ...
So... You don't understand that retail prices and cogs go up over time. Maybe you should just go back to smoking, because I don't see you complaining about the exorbitant costs associated with that.
Tobacco prices increased because of taxes. Did they pass an athletic gear ...
You wear $40 shirts and tights when you run?
No, I was just pricing stuff out over the past few days. Just saying the same stuff I used to wear to run that I got for $5-$12 is now in the $20-$30 range. Damn Nike and their marketing....

The Business of Fitness - PurpleandGold Motown
So, I quit smoking. Yay me, and I want to get back into running. I was a state level mid-distance (800, 1600, 3200) in high school. Turned down athletic scholarships to party and drink through college. Anyway, so I want to run again and stave off weight gain -- maybe compete in a few half and f...

re: Any thought to why we havent seen Morris this yr? - PurpleandGold Motown
If Coker transfers in I'm pretty sure he will get the nod. No use transferring if that's not the case. At 6'5 230, he would be our biggest QB. He can also move. From what I've seen of him this season and during FSUs spring game, he's got a pretty good arm as well....

Oh I know. Just replied to last post as it was a general comment to no one in particular. I found this on reddit and thought it was a fricking hilarious way to describe how prey animals viewed humans. To be fair, humans are some bull shite from a balance perspective. They run about 62 miles per day tops but that is under optimal conditions for dogs (cold). They can't do that in even moderate temperatures without overheating themselves and dying. They have no method of staying cool other than panting....

Terrestrial animal. A human can't beat a tuna either. But that's a different form of locomotion. African dogs according to the linked article cover about 6.2 miles a day. That's a morning jog....

Deer? Really? When have you ever seen a deer do anything that implies stamina? Humans top end speed is abysmal but we survived by our "canter" or "lope" being faster than all other animals and being able to keep it up longer. We force prey to sprint or gallop. They can't cool down properly becaus...
