| Tiger Rant|| re: James Hairston to Transfer - TigerfFaithful on 3/7/14 at 4:39 pm|
No university can "block" a transfer. A player can transfer to any school that will accept him; he just has to pay his own education for a year. If, however, a coach grants a release to a player for a specific school, then the player can accept immediate financial aid from that school.

| Tiger Rant|| re: IMO a big key to the success of LSU in 2014 will be - TigerfFaithful on 1/8/14 at 4:46 pm|
If we get Collins and Turner back, our OL will be one of the best in the country. Combined with one of the best (if not the best) backfield, LSU will have a monster ground attack.
I think the key to 2014 will be the DL, especially DT. Rasco and Hunter should be quality DEs. Both showed flashes ...

| Tiger Rant|| re: The real reason why players are leaving early - TigerfFaithful on 1/6/14 at 11:34 am|
[quote]You are ignoring that EVERYONE in the country that is draft eligible has the same incentives to leave, yet it looks like 2 year s in a row, LSU will have more kids leave early than any other team. Players at every school leave early. The problem is that underclassmen are leaving LSU in far greater numbers than anywhere else. Other programs have had a lot more success returning their fringe and possible late round picks....

We were not ready to replace the attrition experienced at the position last year. The same attrition is happening again this year. The players who jumped ship have left us decimated at the DT position. We are going to be playing a group of sophomores with little experience and RS freshmen with no ex...

Blue qualified for a medical redshirt because he suffered a season ending injury in the third game of the season (i.e, he lost greater than 70% of competition due to injury) and he had not previously redshirted (i.e., he played as a true freshman). Blue has one remaining season of eligibility. He ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Where would you rank Miles among the SEC's 14 Coaches - TigerfFaithful on 12/17/13 at 2:48 pm|
Miles is 2 behind Saban. Saban should be ranked first because Saban is a better recruiter, not a better game day decision maker. Saban is the best recruiter in the nation. Gus would not even be in the discussion had Saban not blew it in the Iron Bowl and Bama's placekicker choked....

I thought Lamin played some mike in Minter's absence but I could be wrong. His production was way down compared to last year. However, the coaches thought enough of his play to name him 2nd team All SEC. I just think it was a down year for LBs in the SEC. Unless Dee Ford moves to LB, there proba...

| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: what kind of year did donnie alexander have? - TigerfFaithful on 12/16/13 at 3:05 pm|
Alexander is still committed. Although his offer list is not that impressive, he obviously impressed enough at camp for the coaches to extend an offer. Perhaps the reason for lack of offers could be that he committed to LSU so early in the process. At the SPARQ combine, his measurables were decen...
| Tiger Rant|| re: ESPN.com 2013 All-SEC Team includes Beckham and Barrow - TigerfFaithful on 12/16/13 at 2:24 pm|
Besides Mosely, the SEC is thin on linebackers this year. Barrow has some good stats and versatility having played both inside and outside. I am not sure but I think guys like Hubbard and Powell might have been classified as DEs. Barrow arguably had a year better than them at least stat-wise....

Highlights are unreal. Lateral quickness, vision and balance seem to be off the charts. He reportedly ran a hand-timed 4.38 at LSU camp. He weaves through the defenses like the millenium falcon zipping through an asteroid belt. He makes guys look like they are standing still. In space, he looks...

| SEC Rant|| re: Ohio St and Auburn both lose, does bama sneak in? - TigerfFaithful on 12/1/13 at 6:11 pm|
Under the OP's hypo, as SEC champ, Mizzou would get in BCSNC game against FSU. However, if OSU and FSU were both to lose, then it sets up an interesting possibility with Bama being in the mix. If you look at the current poll and votes, it appears Oklahoma State is the only other one loss team that...

| Tiger Rant|| re: Defensive Tackles for Next Year - TigerfFaithful on 12/1/13 at 5:22 pm|
If both AJ and Ego go, we will be ridiculously young and thin at DT next season.
Not counting any incoming freshmen, this will be our rotation:
Bain (RSFR) - no PT
LaCouture (SO) - backup/limited PT
Thomas (RSJR) - backup/limited PT
Johnson (RSJR) - almost no PT
Gilmore (RSFR) - no PT
