Is it an IRA or Roth IRA? If its an IRA you will pay taxes. If its a Roth, you can pull out from the base you contributed without paying taxes....

Current company let me keep a scheduled vacation I booked before accepting the job. The time off was in addition to normal vacation time. They just said it was part of the price in getting the people they want. So, just be honest with them and see if they will work around this for you....
