re: OB, has anyone ever fished the Disney lakes? - ccdrlsu
Did it with the kids 2 years ago. Pontoon boat and live bait only on our trip. Plenty of bass, but not worth the money and not much sport in it. I suspect you could arrange a better trip than we had. I am more interested in fishing the peacock bass in the canal around the airports....

re: Doctors of the OB, I have a question - ccdrlsu
First, prayers to you and your family. Squamous cell can originate in or spread to the "bronchial tubes". The proximity in the bronchial tubes and the lymph node stage determine whether he is an operative candidate, a neoadjuvant chemo candidate (i.e. give chemo to shrink and then resect) or a c...

re: Jindal shutting down LSU hospital system in order to privatize it - ccdrlsu
Not "data", just an impressive list of docs that trained at EKL in internal medicine. Multiply it across multiple specialties and sites across the state and even you may be able to appreciate that supporting residency programs may be a good idea for the state as a whole. This was posted by me prev...

re: Jindal shutting down LSU hospital system in order to privatize it - ccdrlsu
To la bird Keeping a minimum number of beds licensed is a requirement to maintaining funding for outpatient enterprises. LSU operates multiple clinics in the Baton Rouge area in addition to EKL. If EKL closes completely, the funding mechanism for the clinics is lost. http://theadvocate.com/home...

Disclaimer: Although I am an LSU doc, because I have been on the "privatization" side of resident education and clinical care for 4 years, I am not impacted personally by these cuts; many persons that I respect greatly will be. The implications of the closures go far beyond just indigent care as ...

I chartered a catamaran this past July and did several islands over five days from the boat. Pretty cool deal. Husband is the captain, wife is the cook/first mate. All meals included and they were great. Was cool to be able to see multiple islands on the same trip on our own schedule. We used t...

re: If you were Bill Gates rich what eccentric outdoor gear would you buy? - ccdrlsu
I would buy or build an oil rig near the green canyon. I would have a means of driving my boats to store under the rig with lifts. There would be a 36 center console and an express. I would have the ability to dive my rig and get back on easily. I would fly my chopper out there for the weekend a...

Just looked at Hilton's. Using the chlorophyll (the true color images are poor): From cocodrie it looks like SS 300 to SS 283. From Fourchon, it is 7 miles south of the circle rigs and then heads north as you move east. The images from the east have some cloud cover, so I cannot tell. Of ...

re: How do you go about acquiring those patches for sea sickness - ccdrlsu
Remember to put the patch on the night before and DO NOT let her rub her eyes! Bonine will work, but also take the night before for best effect. Ginger is not a bad addition. For the oh shite moment, phenergan or zofran work. Phenergan can be compounded as a topical if pucking is an issue.....

re: OT cardiologists or those who have a stent procedure - ccdrlsu
As stated, this is an interventional cardiologists arena, not a vascular surgeon. Whether to have the procedure (and stent is correct, not just angioplasty, most of the time) is dependant on the location of the lesion, the characteristics of the lesion, and the symptoms the patient is having. Pu...

re: Anyone not satisfied with OLOL lately? - ccdrlsu
Seeing as the CEA was not signed between EKL and OLOL until a couple of years ago, and you are referencing an event from 4 years ago, I would say your last statement in incorrect. Numbers wise, EKL operates all of 60 beds. Diluted into OLOL's 700 beds, that is not too much (and this assumes all ...

What is your current sounder and what have you bought? Unlikely that the new lowrance will have two cables from a transom mount transducer. Need to be seen today by a doc. Also, increasing metoprolol beyond 50 mg/day will not improve BP control and only make you feel crappy (i.e. the dose response curve flattens for hypertension above 50 mg). You will require at least 2 meds to control your BP....

I had a 22 seacat way back when. We constantly had water in the boat as the deck was not high enough/crowned to drain to the scuppers. Moved up to a 26 glacier bay. Much nicer, deck was much better. Did have a scupper hose come loose and fill one hull that was pretty scary. Both were slow...
