re: Army rebrands athletics as "Army West Point" - armytiger96
They wear unit patches b/c their is s common misperception by the upper brass that the Army Football Team represents the entire Army and that the success of the football team has influence on the morale of the regular Army units. Therefore, they wear patches to represent the regular Army units. ...

re: Army rebrands athletics as "Army West Point" - armytiger96
The logo comes from the helmets of ancient Sparta. The Spartans believed in building their soldiers by depriving them of everything, breaking down the individuality of the soldier, and then building them up. This is the concept that West Point uses to take civilians and turn them into officers. S...

re: SIAP: Alleva interview on all kinds of stuff (Simmons, Hawthorne, football, etc) - armytiger96
Y'all are correct we should force Auburn and GA to give up their 118 year rivalry that is currently tied. We should continue to acknowledge that the SEC wishes to preserve the Alabama TN rivalry to ensure AL continues to have an unfair scheduling advantage and not because they have played each ot...

re: LASIK at Williamson Eye Center - armytiger96
Just make sure your prescription has been stabilized before getting the surgery. I had it 10 years ago and now wear glasses again. When I was getting fit for glasses the optometrist told me that it is not uncommon for people to be back in glasses a few months to a year after having surgery b/c t...

re: So about this "no "S" in LSU" article that's been floating around (budget cuts) - armytiger96
So let me get this straight the article states that only 13% of LSU's revenue comes from the state and the worse case scenario is 82% of this 13% will get cut. So the president of LSU expects me to believe that if the LSU system loses 10.7% of its overall budget that the flagship university may h...

re: Question about Army Football and Recruiting - armytiger96
You don't get a scholarship instead you get an appointment as many on the board have said. So it's like playing for your high school team. You attend the school and it's essentially an extra curricular activity. They also have open tryouts for anyone in the corps of cadets that wants to try out...

re: OT workout crew: could you pass the West Point Indoor Obstacle Course? - armytiger96
20 years ago yes, barely; today not a chance. The real difficult part is dealing with the asbestos filled air that causes you to develop a hacking cough for a full week after the test. The fun part was watching your classmates fill the puke buckets that are lined up along the wall at the finis...
