re: PC Discussion - Gaming, Performance and Enthusiasts - LSU Coyote
Yeah that is odd, idk the TDP off hand GK104-425 but I'll image it runs cool. I bet what is making the card so hot are those 7Ghz VRAM modules....
Are you getting performance boost with those clocks?
Jesus, hell yeah man. I don't start a game usually without OC the core to 1150. Only games I don't OC on are Indie Titles. EDT: If you want a 7870 back so bad, I'll trade 2 for that 770 or do 7870/cash. The GK104-400-A2 was a...
I haven't seen a lot of complete reviews but there were some 4k benchmarks that had it scaling better than anything else. I think it was only a couple of frames ahead of the 780ti though. I haven't seen anything about heat? are they cooler?
This is why im just purchasing 1 ATM. Those...

They are easier to make. Still at 28nm with a lower transiter count. This is like GK104 (Little Kepler) to GK110 (Big Kepler). Edt: GTX 680 vs GTX Titan/780Ti....

Just ordered an EVGA 980 reference, will run some tests with this smaller bus and -800 CUDA cores before going all in with SLi. None the less, this card will no doubt make it in one instal...
4k is a long way off for me, I'm not willing to fork up the money for 1440 yet
After experiencing this RoG Swift @ 1440/120-144/G-Sync; IDC about 4K until a 4K display with G-Sync @ at less 60Hz is released....
Anyone actually getting the new 980?
You just asked ppl in this thread if ANYONE is buying the 980. Brother, already on top of that. I'm hearing 1400Mhz is a common reachable OC for the little Maxwell GM204-400....

Its not a bad deal and also didn't think my RoG Swift wasnt all that pricey. G-sync is amazing , but the monitor should sale for 100 cheaper IMO. TN still sucks for color depth....

So AMD has a 285X coming to market within the next few weeks. The Tonga(sp?) chipset looks great for iTX rigs, might wait on this card since it should beat or trade punches with 7970/280X cards while at a lower TDP....

Well shtt, wasn't there last night. I love everything iTX and that card will fit perfect in my bedroom SteamBox. I would have purchased another 290 for cheap on eBay but not purchasing another SFX PSU to drive the Islands; the current 450W SFX PSU just won't do. The 285 in game and synth...
MSI GeForce GTX 770 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card
I would go for a 285 if you want that performance range. Only reason to use a 770 now is if you own a Shield or plan to stream gaming to other nVidia PCs. None you will be doing and I recommend using Steam Streaming anyway....
But I'm just gonna leave it here at 4.2 and that's plenty for me.
Since those FX chips have shtt IPC, higher frequency is what you want to shoot for. All is fine @ 4.2, but 1-1.5yrs one of my spare rigs had an 8320/7950 then 8320/780 Lightning but the rigs really started to shine ...
