All sounds good. But he is a FRESHMAN.
Just because he is highly recruited does not mean that he should be on the field from the beginning. Seems our fans want every freshman to start from day one. There are freshman who should and others have to wait.
Fans create a lot of this drama ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Would you trade a couple more losses this season for getting BH ready for 2015? - Fabius on 12/2/14 at 1:51 am|
Absolutely. Harris is the only hope that this team has to compete for championships over the next two years. His development has been delayed a year while the 2014 class has burned a year of eligibility. If he starts next year, he will need half a season or more to settle in and we could lose a c...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Coach Miles Quote - Fabius on 11/28/14 at 1:53 pm|
I do think harris would have come in the game if we could have put a&m away. But we always kept them in the game.
If Miles held true to form and "victory was assured" then Harris might have come in to hand the ball off a few times in the closing minutes in order to run the cloc...
| Tiger Rant|| re: The QB competition at LSU - Fabius on 11/23/14 at 9:14 pm|
Short story. Harris has shiwn tremendous potential in every outing except his first SEC road start against Auburn when the D was still playing terrible and we got down early.
Jennings has shiwn little to nothing.
Les Mikes logic. That means Jennings should be the starter. ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Offensive Analysis of Arkansas game - Fabius on 11/23/14 at 3:07 pm|
I rewatched part of the game and came away with the opposite conclusion. Jennings had a wide open receiver on third down and over threw a 10 yard pass by about 15 feet over the receiver's head. Missed an easy 2 yard throw on another drive. Fumbled to kill a scoring opportunity. A number of the r...
| Tiger Rant|| re: LSU's 2014 Passing Game - A Tale of 2 Seasons - Fabius on 11/21/14 at 2:52 am|
The first half of the season was mostly Jennings completing a few long passes to Dural and Harris lighting it up in the second halfs against MSU and NMST. Harris hasn't played since the Auburn game and opposing teams have figured out that the only pass that Jennings throws well is the deep rainbow ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: What did Miles see? - Fabius on 11/19/14 at 7:51 am|
I think it has already been discussed on this board. Harris doesn't put in the time in the film room that Jennings does and he has a year less experience. I'm sure Miles is just holding Harris out to both keep from winning and aggravate fans. That crazy Miles.
This makes no sense....
| Tiger Rant|| re: Reading this board, you'd think AJ was the only player on the field... - Fabius on 11/17/14 at 5:28 pm|
QBs job is to get the ball to the player in a position to make a play. Not seeing open receivers, not finding ths single coverage and mismatches, not throwing receivers open ( back shoulder, etc.), missing open receivers, bad ball placement, throws that are too early or too late are all QB failures...
| Tiger Rant|| re: do people really think Harris isn't beating out AJ? - Fabius on 11/16/14 at 1:08 pm|
Harris has a better arm, is more mobile and is bright. Those are all the tools he needs. The rest is up to the coaches.
If the best they can get out of their QBs is what we see from AJ, then they are bad coaches....
| Tiger Rant|| re: do people really think Harris isn't beating out AJ? - Fabius on 11/16/14 at 12:54 pm|
Jennings has been terrible all season. Harris has at least shown potential and has played better against the same opponents than Jennings (Miss. St., NMST).
Harris got one shot, on the road against Auburn in his first SEC start. He showed some nerves (hardly a surprise) was pulled and has bee...
He never had the brains for the job. People thought he was quirky and funny when really he's just not a very smart guy.
This. Some people think that he can't be as stupid as he appears because he wins 9 or 10 games a year. He wins because he inherited a well-funded program in a ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: 2015- We're going to be sick - Fabius on 11/13/14 at 6:38 am|
We won't be "sick" until we have a balanced offense with a competent passing attack. That, if it ever happens, needs to match up with a dominant defense for Miles' approach to yield a championship.
2011 - probably the best defensive team I've ever seen, but not enough to win it all with JJ at QB...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Can we all agree now that next year is the year? - Fabius on 11/13/14 at 12:21 am|
Jennings will remain the starter at QB so we will again be one dimensional. O-line will be young, so it will take time for run game to gel. We lose one game early due to no offensive production, lose to Bama again and lose at least one other game because the ball bounces funny, we get behind and ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: 2012 Mett was written off by many as a bust - Fabius on 11/11/14 at 8:24 am|
The qb with a comparable arm is on the bench
This. You could see the talent in Mett in 2012 and you can see the talent in Harris this year. Jennings has not shown any such talent.
| Tiger Rant|| re: How did the defense get it turned around? - Fabius on 10/26/14 at 2:30 am|
Beckwith plugging the right gaps, game sllowing down for young players. Biggest difference IMO is getting Welter out and letting Beckwith get enough reps to get comfortable. His name was called a lot tonight.
When MLB goes from a liability to a playmaker, it changes the entire defense....
| Tiger Rant|| re: Do you think Harris will get meaningful snaps again this year? - Fabius on 10/12/14 at 9:59 pm|
Remember that we are going to go through some tough games moving forward.
Tougher than the 2011 NC game? JL didn't get a snap while JJ melted down in full living color.
Jennings is the starter and Harris will sit the bench because Miles doesn't care if J...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Do you think Harris will get meaningful snaps again this year? - Fabius on 10/12/14 at 8:38 pm|
Jennings is exactly what Miles wants at QB. Not a good enogh passer to take snaps away from the running game, but can occasionally hit Dural on a long rainbow in a moment of desperation. Miles gets to run the ball to his heart's delight and Jennings makes a couple of plays a game so Miles can just...

Basically, he laid out a number of issues that are consistent with what many have been saying for years.
In football circles, Les Miles teams have never been considered the most prepared or tecnhically sound.
Miles has won with superior talent. Talent development is an issue. LSU has put a l...

this is true for every coach in that exists
sure, less talented teams will beat more talented teams on occasion, but to win consistently, all coaches rely on talent

My impression of Miles was formed in the Tennessee game in 2005 and he has done nothing since to change it. He is not bright, he is a poor game day coach and his coaching philosophy was formed during his days at Michigan and hasn't changed.
He is a good enough recruiter to use LSU's huge recru...
