Our contemporary lives are built around marketing - just about everything we want to own or do has been sold to us, overtly or not.
"Gaming" is just one of many industries that has grown exponentially in size and scope to the point that a video game brand's marketing budget can be as high as a qu...

I don't post often, but when I do, I further the god damned discussion! I can't help but think that Film Critic Hulk would have been more interesting as a voice acted series, though, to get...

This article would have been penetrating if Abrams hadn't already laid out his entire approach to media creation in his TED Talk "The Mystery Box".
It always seemed to me like for Abrams, a plot device itself is a character and the characters are devices with their sole narrative functions being ...

Randall also tweeted that he hopes this means that Ubisoft is licensing out the Anvil (Assassin's Creed) Engine.
He's not jumping to the conclusion that some of the animations (which are clearly the same) have been stolen. I don't think his interest in this, to the extent of talking about it via...

SWTOR is a game that I have since picked back up and played steadily after abandoning it back in February of 2012. I was all over the development news for years, played in closed beta, and got early access and then was just sorely underwhelmed because it wasn't innovative or immersive like I wanted...

It was worth it to do them once in Brotherhood just to unlock the Cristina Vespucci memories. Those were well done.
Other than that, I find those games are tediously linear once you sift past the shallow beat-em-up and follow-that-a-hole missions.
I got Black Flag on Christmas and haven't ha...

Any character from Final Fantasy 8-13.
And Lost Odyssey.
I like some of those games, but find the characters difficult to take seriously.
Worst offenders: Zell Dincht, Kaim Argonar, Tidus, Quina, Paine, Vaan, Snow. Those are just the atrocities that appear by default when I scan my memory ...

It's one of those cases where what they wanted to do was really running up against the limitations of the engine. I agree, it's frustrating. Especially when you near the end and you have the holograms everywhere with no feasible way to consistently evade them....

Dead Money and Lonesome Road are two of the greatest DLCs ever released, for their own respective reasons.
I liked Honest Hearts but felt that it was way too short - the potential there with Graham as a character was astronomical but I felt like they fell short of making it as poignant as some of...

Some developers have provided an example of how to sift through the criticism and find the points that matter. I think that user feedback has often led to a better product.
It's not like they take one person's raw opinion and lay awake at night trying to figure out how to incorporate it. They b...

I guess the contemporary CEO's mind is just consumed with needing to look like he/she is always doing something for the shareholders.
