re: How often should you replace your A/C filter? - ScottieP
I agree. I use the cheap filter and change it monthly during summer. I have had the expensive type that filters out every particle known to man-I took it out. The unit strained to pull air through that pos. A/c man told me this as well-not worth it to try to run the "high dollar" filters.[/qu...

re: Bathroom remodel project - ScottieP
American Standard, Kohler or Toto are good brands of toilets. Ask for a right height elongated bowl. The right heights are a little taller then the standard toilet (believe 16-18 inches tall) and the elongated will help with the junk touching. Also get a slow close seat. costs a little more but ...

re: Suggestions on tsp allocations - ScottieP
I have been in the TSP for 15 years. I have tried to "play" the market but the fund transfer process is so slow you can miss the gains or get hammered by the drops before your money transfers. With 25 years left stick it in the C fund and let it ride. If you are one of those people who can no...

re: Questions about building a house and costs - ScottieP
Cost per square ft will vary depending on type of house. Many variables. I would get a construction loan and take draws as you builtd to pat your subs. Us the cash you have saved to buy appliances, hardware, plumbing and electric fixtures. These items need to be purchased in advance and most o...

re: Boat Motor Trouble: Need Opinions - ScottieP
I rarely use mine also. This is a big problem if you use ethanol gas. I have heard people complain of problems after a few weeks. If you use non ethanol gas and put some kind of Sea foam or stabil in the tank when you fill up you should be good. With that said I am having problems myself with ...

re: Outboard Issues--I'm thinking seafoam is the answer - ScottieP
Ran my boat today. I changed the spark plugs before I left the house. Old ones did not look bad but for $12 its one less what if. I also filled up a new 5 gal tank with non ethanol gas and added a bottle of "mechanic in a bottle" additive. It ran really rough at about 3500-4500 rpms with a lot o...

re: LSU out of the CWS and still watching - ScottieP
Games are hard to watch. Its not just taking the HR out of the game. When the CF is playing closer to 2B then the wall there is a problem. This park makes good pitchers look great and great pitchers HOF's. Even the announcers are mocking the park by calling any ball hit over an outfielders...

re: Is it standard to pay 1/3 upfront for a fence? - ScottieP
Never pay a contractor up front for anything. I don't care what they say. Plenty of people out there that can do the same work and get paid after the work is done. You know all those sob stories about people getting taken for thousands of dollars...Those people paid in advance!!! ...
I saw some people stating they had the same issues with this, but I can't for the life of me figure out why it wouldn't rev up instead of bog down if it was spinning on the hub under a load. I have been having the same issue with my 115 Yamaha 2 stroke. It cranks fine, runs really smooth till about 4000 rpms. Anything above 4000rpms and it fluctuates (quick hesitations). Its seems to stop at full throttle, but I only get about 5000 rpms as opposed to normal 5500. If I try to slam ...
