Memories. Caffeine 1998 = my first rave. John Kelly blew my balls out of the palace as I was induced into a "trolling" coma. The seats in the palace were racing each other and the balcony was shouting at them to run faster. I was at the rave that got busted in 2000. We still went in after severa...

just saw them at the Varsity last April. My .02: They were a very underrated rock band who I thought would lean more to the industrial side, but became a harder guitar band. Their first album, "Short Bus", was pretty good...nothing earth-shattering. I thought that "Title of Record" was wel...

The late 90's was a spawn of the early and mid 90's. You go from The Melvins, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Soundgarden, AIC and that moprhs into Candlebox, Creed, Fuse, Silverchair, and Bush which morphs into Godsmack, Jawbreaker, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, etc. Korn is the only band who was playing the nu-me...

I own the debut Sevendust album and saw them on tour back in '98 with Coal Chamber and Human Waste Project. I see no Nu Metal in them whatsoever -- just kick arse rock. The opening track, "Black" is just bad ass. The second track, "Bitch" has a tiny nu Rock element to it. "Terminator" has some catchy...
System of a Down isn't really nu metal.
Agreed. Not at all. It is in same category of sound as Tool.
Static X got lumped in with nu metal because of timing. They were more industrial.
Agree again. They were more like Skinny Puppy and Ministry. The lead...

Kylesa: "Ultraviolet" (metal heads) - PiscesTiger
This may be my favorite newer album. I have been listening to it a lot and the constant change between both singers' voices, the atmospheric backdrops, and the crunching guitars and bass are brilliant. I recommend. I have not listened to much metal in a while. This is by no means Lamb of God and...

The following aren't MY picks, but if you wanted to find the best in a public survey, the winner likely comes from this. If these songs were all on 3-4 CD's and you had an 80's themed party, you could rock out somewhat to this (tried Not to include strictly pop songs like those of Duran Duran, Madon...

Correct. If Texas passes casinos, Shreveport will be deduced to scraps. For years, DFW and East Texas have flocked to Shreveport and its economy has stabilized, despite being an atrocious city for job perspectives. It also will not help that the Independence Bowl is all but "weed eatered" out of...
