re: Reminder to wear PFD- accident on Pearl River shows why - dragboatscott
That's exactly where it happened. The drop is only about 1 foot right now and that's when it's the most dangerous. During normal water levels it's about 4 feet drop but the water is only about hip deep....

re: Reminder to wear PFD- accident on Pearl River shows why - dragboatscott
Story is a little off. It happened at the bogue chitto river sill on the pearl river navigation canal. Terrible thing to see. Most of the accidents there are from people trying to drive over it and that is just not very smart. ...

Thanks for the reply! Hate to see its not lasting for you. I still like that original picture of it. I have also heard it's tough to get a good mount from a catfish. If/when I catch another big one I'll be looking into it in more detail....

I have several mounts all killed/caught by me. Would never mount something I didn't catch or kill. Short hijack: Bleeding purple, I believe this subject was discussed some time ago and I think you posted a picture of a flat head. It was the nicest mounted flat head I ever saw. I catch those fr...

re: Deer processing in the Covington/Folsom area? - dragboatscott
Friends use cutrers in kentwood. I use Fortenberry in crossroads, it's a little drive but WELL worth it. I gave Bruce a try two years ago and will never go there again. I'm not going into details but I was not happy and will not recommend him....

re: Bow Sights? - dragboatscott
I shoot a lot and practice just for that. I'm a one pin guy and shoot an hha. Usually leave at 30 yards and I can hold right on from 0 to 35. If I'm in that situation I know my set up well enough to hold over. The bigger issue to me would be getting the range right. You'd have to be good at rang...

re: catfish traps - dragboatscott
Have a little patience with them. Once they turn dark, pick your spots and let them fish for 3 days during the summer. Whatever fish you catch will probably die after that. I leave mine down for a week during the cool months. Move them around if you don't catch. Once they do make some room in your...

re: catfish traps - dragboatscott
Ive done this for years. You can catch ALOT of fish in them. They need to be in moving water and the nastiest, stinkiest and stickiest cheese you can find is the best bait. Pack the cheese under the throat all the way up to the gap in the slats and make sure it on the bottom. Throat goes down curr...

re: .243 Ammo question - dragboatscott
Im sure it would do fine at longer distance. That's my only experience with the caliber. I loved shooting it while I was getting it ready, virtually no recoil and was accurate as hell! Think I'm going to buy it from him for my wife....

re: .243 Ammo question - dragboatscott
Until last week I had never used that caliber to hunt with. I borrowed one from a friend to take on a hunt where I knew my shot may not be very long and needed a smaller framed gun to help with going through thickets. I got to shoot a 200 lb 8 point and was quite surprised with the performance. I us...

re: Anyone hunt PR WMA or Bogue Chitto NWR - dragboatscott
Ive hunted bogue chitto for nearly 30 years. Katrina ruined the landscape but the thickness it made since has help create more critters. Especially hogs! Theyre about to totally over run it. Its hard to get around in but if you're willing to work there's some good animals in there....

Not familiar with the water flow on that powerhead but if you did all that running and it didn't lock up I think you're good! :lol If the indicator had that much pressure the block shouldve been full of water while running...
