re: Buying first rifle -- Recommendations welcome - RotorheadTiger
Mostly personal preference. .270 offers more velocity, flatter trajectory, and less recoil though with .30-06 you have unmatched flexibility from light to heavy bullets.
.270 I've got a Savage .270 and it ain't even close. Accuracy and knock-down, you can't beat it. I've shot ...

re: Glock 27. Yea or nea? - RotorheadTiger
My wife has a 26 (9mm) and I carry a 23. The 26 obviously is the same frame as the 27. I've shot my wife's gun at the range. It's just not comfortable to me and I can't imagine what it would be like in .40 S&W. It fits my wife's small hands but not mine. Nothing against the gun, just not enough...

re: Best place to buy a Jeep? - RotorheadTiger
Bought mine at Ralph Sellers. In my research, that's the best around here. Acadiana in Lafayette is a bit better if you don't mind the drive. Also, look at joining Tread Lightly. I got a pretty big discount after I mentioned my Tread Lightly membership. They weren't coming off the price before ...

re: OT Head Shavers - RotorheadTiger
Shave it. It'll change your life. I shave mine every other day. Safety razor and wet shave face with a good blade and shaving soap. But for the head, though, Mach 3 or similar blade with barbasol in the shower. Haven't found any better way to do it. ...

re: Question about Jeep Wranglers - RotorheadTiger
Hard top soft top combo if you can. The only time I use the hard top is November - January. I pull out my back seat and put on the hard top during hunting season. This keeps my gear secure and locked up. Rest of the year the soft top is back on and up only if rain is expected
Ye...

re: Question about Jeep Wranglers - RotorheadTiger
I've got a 2011. Judging by your post, you'd probably enjoy a wrangler. However, a stock Jeep doesn't have a ton of offroad capability. At a minimum, I'd recommend a lift kit, minimum 33 inch tires and bumpers/winch. Budget about 5k for all that. Also, in real numbers, expect about 15 mpg in to...

re: Found a new duck blind - RotorheadTiger
Yeah, that's LJ's land. 71 Plantation. Second year hunting out there. Last year was horrible but this year we're bringin' in some good numbers. He rotated crops and last year our blind was on a rice field with a ton of regrowth. This year he planted soybeans there. Lot more open/visible water....

Looking for a Chocolate Lab - RotorheadTiger
Anybody know of any chocolate lab pups available or available soon in South Louisiana or vicinity? Looking to spend in the $700-$800 range for a good duck dog/family dog. Looked at Louisiana Sportsman and gundogbreeders.com, even tried google, but so far no luck. It's a shot in the dark....

re: If you had to shoot a deer with an AR.... - RotorheadTiger
FWIW, my first deer rifle was a mini-14. Shot nothing but .223 55gr in it. Wouldn't have had it any other way. Definitely learned shot placement....and, yes, a little blood trailing every now and then. Just my two cents....
