Hard top soft top combo if you can. The only time I use the hard top is November - January. I pull out my back seat and put on the hard top during hunting season. This keeps my gear secure and locked up. Rest of the year the soft top is back on and up only if rain is expected
Ye...

re: Question about Jeep Wranglers - RotorheadTiger
I've got a 2011. Judging by your post, you'd probably enjoy a wrangler. However, a stock Jeep doesn't have a ton of offroad capability. At a minimum, I'd recommend a lift kit, minimum 33 inch tires and bumpers/winch. Budget about 5k for all that. Also, in real numbers, expect about 15 mpg in to...

Yeah, that's LJ's land. 71 Plantation. Second year hunting out there. Last year was horrible but this year we're bringin' in some good numbers. He rotated crops and last year our blind was on a rice field with a ton of regrowth. This year he planted soybeans there. Lot more open/visible water....

Looking for a Chocolate Lab - RotorheadTiger
Anybody know of any chocolate lab pups available or available soon in South Louisiana or vicinity? Looking to spend in the $700-$800 range for a good duck dog/family dog. Looked at Louisiana Sportsman and gundogbreeders.com, even tried google, but so far no luck. It's a shot in the dark....

FWIW, my first deer rifle was a mini-14. Shot nothing but .223 55gr in it. Wouldn't have had it any other way. Definitely learned shot placement....and, yes, a little blood trailing every now and then. Just my two cents....

Federal Aviation Administration. An agency held hostage by a government union. Political and toxic on a level you cannot imagine. Does nothing but reward incompetence and mediocrity. Hate it. Makes me want to take a minimum wage job flying the gulf. Just me and my helicopter. Simple life. ...
So are you ignoring the gross difference in cost to purchase each airplane?
Not at all. But the cost of purchase is offset by the operating costs over time. The GV (used) is roughly $20 mil and a decent P-51D will be around $2.5 to 3 mil. Granted, I will concede that it does dep...

re: Greatest aircraft in the history of aviation (post pics of your nomination) - RotorheadTiger
Having operated both, the average cost of a Mustang (per hour) is $3500. The average cost of a GV is around $2900. This inculdes maintenance reserves and insurance. Fuel is highly variable and could skew the results somewhat. No, I will not produce receipts....
Okay. What do you think cost more to maintain? A large company Jet with two engines or a single engine plane that was mass produced. Also insurance is much less on the Mustang, and on top of that it's annuals are the same as any complex prop plane. Not at all like a large jet. Dude,...
