re: Homebrewing: In-Process Thread - Fratastic423
A buddy told me this morning that he found some wild persimmon trees yesterday in a park, so our minds immediately turned to beer. Now just trying to figure out what to brew. Figure we have another like 2 weeks before they fully ripen. Since I am on a huge sour kick, obviously thinking sours. An...

I try to follow the "rule" of over carbonate but push with low carbonation when bottling. I have never really felt the need to keep the bottles really cold but I have a beer gun so IDK if that matters. Length of tubing makes a huge difference as well. I tried to use a different piece of tubing th...
BMoney S14suspense
Works for me. I have to work late on Thursday night, but that wouldn't really get in the way. If you want to coordinate the visit we could try a couple of beers. I put a JK Provenance in the fridge on Saturday but we didnt get around to drinking it, so I would...

I am driving to Houston this weekend so I want to drop off some entries into the competition rather than mailing them. So ideally I can get the Amber ready in time. ...

re: Homebrewing: In-Process Thread - Fratastic423
I took a sample of the American Amber I brewed last weekend yesterday to check for gravity. Gravity was great, fermented out. I noticed though that the color was just a bit off. I realized that I had not asked the LHBS to add the chocolate malt to the grain bill since I had a bunch of it. Every...

We added our first additions of dry hops to our project dank beers. One carboy got 2.5 Oz of Amarillo and 1.5 of Citra the other got 2 of Centennial and 2 of Simcoe. After 5 days each beer gets a second dose of the same schedule for another 4 days or so. The beers may not have been completely finish...

I will measure the empty bucket I have at the house to see if it is 5 gallons. I believe I have an extra spigot which I could just add to the bucket in lieu of buying a bottling bucket. ...

That does not appear to be homemade alcohol though. Just appears to be homemade infusions. If I pay you for the ingredients to make some infusions, you go to the store and buy it all, then give it to me once it is infused, are you really selling me the alcohol? ...

Yea, i know better than to ask. I do not think that there is a lot of teeth in it for someone like me, and really doubt there is a lot of issue for anyone with a license. I made the mistake of asking about Iron Brewer this past year and was worried that they were going to come shut us down. ...

But you sparging to that amount shouldn't change how much sugar is in the kettle. Hell you could sparge to 9 gallons and boil off 4 and you should have the same (if not more) sugar at the end. As long as you end with the target volume. ...
