DC area Tiger fans should make the trip out to Bowie to see Gausman while he's with the Baysox. It's a decent minor league park (and has a lot of kids' activities if you have youngsters along.)

Recruiting was different in those days. Here's a link to a story on how Lefty Driesell tried to recruit a number of high profile DC area hoops players (including James Brown) when he arrived at Maryland. Apparently, Lefty thought it was fair game, but the NCAA disagreed (mildly).

I think the concern is that a cup with a lid is a more dangerous projectile (as opposed to the messier results of no lid) if thrown from an upper row or deck. In the ACC, it's generally blamed on Maryland fans throwing stuff at the Duke entourage back in the day....
