re: Cafe Habana - Cuban restaurant planned for NOLA - Powerman
One of my close friends in high school had parents that were first generation Cuban immigrants. I've had a handful of home cooked Cuban dinners at their house. As far as whether or not this place is authentic...I really don't care. Things don't necessarily have to be traditional or authentic to...

re: Federal Tax Revenues at record high - Powerman
The predictably stupid response I'm expecting is for people to say that more revenue isn't a good thing from someone who calls himself a fiscal conservative....

Federal Tax Revenues at record high - Powerman

re: If You Were Having A Pot Luck Dinner, What 5 FB Posters Would You Invite?? - Powerman
Wouldn't really care about cooking ability. I think pretty much everyone here has enough skill to bring something tasty to a pot luck type party. I'm judging based more on who I think would be good company. Darla - She cooks Thai food occasionally so we'd get along Meridian Dog - Will have a...

re: Cauliflower Soup - With some photos - Powerman
I first tried a good cauliflower soup at Boucherie in NOLA. Came in a small shooter serving as an amuse bouche. Definitely had more garlic to it, don't know if they used any cheese (don't think so) but it was pretty rich so I'm guessing some cream or half and half. I was trying to mimic somethi...
