Correct. Tamiflu is expensive (about $50/for a week's dose) and will only give a few days of relief beyond the normal course of disease if taken within 2 days of onset of symptoms. He is in for about 5 day...

1. Know the Rule of Thirds
2. Pick your subject and focus on it and [u]only[/u] it. Everything else should be blurred. This is one reason fast lenses are so important.

Get either a Canon or Nikon and a 50mm prime lens with the largest aperture you can afford. Learn to shoot in Aperture Priority mode with the lens wide open and no flash. You will quickly outgrow the 18-55mm kit lens that comes with the camera. Budget for more expensive lenses in the future.

Birds in flight are the most challenging photos to take. I know an avid birder who regularly spends $5K on camera bodies and $10K on lenses. He is an advanced amateur and carries around $35K worth of equipment in the field.

Patching with fiberglass is simple and strong. You need some fiberglass cloth (which looks just like gauze made of nylon), sandpaper and epoxy to cover the fabric. West Marine will have it. The fiberglass cloth becomes transparent when saturated with the epoxy....
