Reservations are hard but the upstairs porch is first come first serve. If the weather is nice it's one of the best seats in town.....hard to catch a break in July/August with the heat though.
For lunch head to Butcher and Bee for a sandwich. Or go late night.
Hit the bars on Upper King.

Madra Rua, Sesame, and EVO (pizza) are worth the trek to Park Circle. Well the Rua and EVO are. Sesame has expanded.

All good advice here. The drive to Folly is only long on a summer weekend if you try to head out after 11am. At Folly hit up Taco Boy (Downtown location as well) and/or Surf Bar. Both great spots.

Was there this summer. Did one night at Amici's in the North End. Was a little hole in the wall that was good Italian.
B&G Oysters in the South End the next night. I really liked this place. I had the Lobster BLT which was fantastic. ...

FIG, McCradys, Oak, Hank's, SNOB, and Cypress are all fine choices downtown.
Not high end dining? Monza for some pizza on Upper King St. or head up to Taco Boy. Always a good time. Juanita Greenberg's is good too.
If you end up on Sullivans hit up Poe's and HomeTeam BBQ.

I too was at the game. J Mitch was the best player on the field. He got hosed on a called 3rd strike.
He had the catch that was in question (was it in the 6th or 7th? Too many High Lifes for $2)
He actually had a really good catch early in the game as well.

Every restaurant listed is good except Hymans Seafood. Worst. Food. Ever. And people line up at all hours of the day to eat that crap. With that said other places worth a try downtown are Justine's Kitchen, Oak Steakhouse, McCrady's, and FIG.

Looking for something nice but no one is bringing blazer so don't want something that requires jackets for men. Any good recommendations? Good steakhouse downtown?

The weather should be nice so should be a good time to visit.
I always suggest just walking around. Most things downtown are all walking distance or you can grab a rickshaw/pedi-cab pretty easily. Just walking around checking out the battery, rainbow row, The Market (big tourist draw but good fo...

Yes Hank's is still kicking and doing well.
For breakfast might want to try Hominy Grill. A little off the beaten path of the downtown restaurants and not a greasy spoon type of place but very good none the less.
Another good restaurant is FIG. The chef is a rising star in the culinary scene...
