I guessed about 180 yards, but the problem is the height. Most tour players hit the ball about 90-100 feet at the peak. To fix a slice or hook you have to understand what makes the ball start where it does and what makes it curve. Closing the clubface at impact will not fix a slice. It will just make the ball start further left and the ball will still slice.

Then you want to play Legacy. TPC is about 30 -35 minutes without traffic from the rental car place. Legacy is about 10-15 minutes and you will not have to worry about traffic. To be honest I would take a cab and just go to Legacy. It may be a little more, but you will not have to deal with the rent...

Depending on where you are staying, Angel Park and Badlands are just as close as Legacy. If you are going straight to the course from the Airport, Legacy will be closer. I would play Legacy over Angel Park or Badlands. The courses in Summerlin get more play and tend to be SLOW. Badlands has some goo...

Legacy is pretty good and have played in many times. They rates vary so much, and I do not know how much it is because locals get out there cheap. I would not pay more than $40-50 to play there. It is nice, but not worth $75-$100. Paiute is also nice, but just as far as Primm. Primm is just as good ...

St George is 2.5 hours from Las Vegas. DO NOT play Wildhorse. It is an ok layout, but it is in bad shape. It really depends on what you are looking to spend. I think around $125 you can play Dragon Ridge (Hendserson) in the afternoon which is private and holds the local US Open qualifier every year ...

A male scratch golfer playing Kiawah's 6200 yard tees will average 70.9 20% of the time and will probably have a total average 75. The LPGA player with a total average (not 20%) of 74 is probably a +2 or +3 because the average rating is probably 73-75 on most course.

The Broadmoor is at 6200 ft. I live in Vegas and notice the difference to Louisiana, and we are only around 2000 ft. Most of it has to do with the temperature, but some of it is the altitude....

Shooting even par on a 6200-6400 yard golf course with a rating below par will not make you a zero index. Most courses that short unless tricked out will have a very low course rating around 68.

You would not make many cuts much less keep your card. Assuming a scoring average of 72 you would rank 174 in scoring and top 125 on the money list keep their card. On the average PGA golf course shooting par is a +2 or +3 handicap and on difficult courses a +4 or +5.

The LPGA player is shooting 74 in tournaments. Look up results for scratch golfers in state am tournaments or USGA local qualifying, and see how many times they break 75. The only way the scratch golfer can win is if he is a tournament scratch (only enters tournament scores)....

You want to stay around Flamingo Ave and Las Vegas blvd. Most of the attractions on the strip are between Flamingo Ave and Tropicana Ave. Harrah's has a shuttle that goes to most of their properties.

I use a rangefinder. It seems that most scratch golfers prefer rangefinders while mid handicappers like GPS.
I like having the exact distance to the hole and estimating the front, back, or middle. You can always shoot the face of the bunker if you need to know distance to carry it. A rangefinder...
