Remember to actually hold whatever sounds good at the time first. I've shot most of the guns mentioned, some fit me some didn't. I've had many cheaper guns shoot better than my expensive ones simply because they fit ME better. There is no one size fits all gun....

As a trapper I pretty much hate these guys as much as PETA. And while I know most here don't trap, these guys should scare the hell out of you. Incremental loss of hunting is still loss. If we support these people what's next. From personal experience I can tell you the most brutal form of hunting i...

How to cook flounder. - smoked hog
Anybody have any food ideas on how to cook large whole flounder. It is to big to fry in a skillet. Any can't miss bake or broil ideas. Going to pan fry some trout fillers and maybe broil some but don't know what to do with the flounder. Around 4 pounds live weight if that helps....

re: 1st inshore charter-any tips - smoked hog
Mostly going after reds, speckled trout and flounder I think. Honestly after growing up around guides I'll just target what they think will have the best success. I've only used circle hooks a handful of times but hard hooksets are something I have to make myself do after growing up with trout. ...

As long as people have different goals management will struggle. Some want to fill a freezer, some just want any buck and others want to grow big ones. The last is the hardest to accommodate. re: spinoff - getting rid of small bream? - smoked hog
Flathead will destroy the bream. A couple of big bass will do the same. Don't go overboard on the flatheads or they will eat everything. I would just go the bass route. I would try to get some decent ones. I'm about to have to start really pulling a bunch of small 1.5 pound bass out of our lake,...

Found out FIL has an 80 acre reservoir, tried it out for the first time. Caught about about 25 bass in three hours, most of it spent working on wife and sons equipment. Wife caught her first big bass and son managed to catch a couple as well when he got out of fish cooler or bait bucket. FIL says th...

Don't forget crankbaits as well. Small rebel crawfish, rapala deep diving shad raps and countdowns f4-f7 have been my best sizes. I like perch, and walleye patterns the best. My dad who has caught more trout than probably any of us will ever see used a bait called flatfish pretty much exclusively. ...

Non-venomous get to live all day long. Venomous is a different story, depends on where they are. In my yard or places I spend a lot of time with my son=dead. Hate to clean tree rats, if my Father in Law didn't love them I wouldn't shoot another one. Equipment is a tie between a huge pile of traps and my fur processing equipment. With the exception of a few very high end crossbows the max range is around 50-60 yards. Most should be shot 40 and in.
