Musberger is the worst. I mute the TV when he is on. Every team and player he talks about is the greatest, most spectacular, incredible or unbelievable team/player ever in the history of the world. Every game is one of the greatest he's seen. And he never shuts up. The SOB makes me ill. ...

I dont think the Saints called 1 of those. Why would they. Peyton called time out at 2:28. Its not sh*t. nobodies paying attention cause we we won, but the refs blew it. If you have it on DVR, check it out....

Thats what I thought at first, like at NE, but they called 2 more time outs after 1:58. The clock was stopped 5 times including the 2 minute warning. They either got 4 time outs or the refs blew their clock management. ...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| ATL got 4 time outs. - wil on 11/21/13 at 10:58 pm|
Anybody else catch this:
The clock stopped at 2:14 after a run. Atl called time out. Saints completed a pass in middle of field. Clock stops at 2:03-even on the defensive penalty, the clock should have run down to 2 minute warning if ATL doesn't call time out. Clock stops again at 1:58 but AT...

The Red Elephant Club pretty much controls the state of Alabama. Their best players who stay but don't make it big in the NFL are guaranteed lifetime employment at good/great pay. LSU alumni don't come close to controlling the state of LA. THey have influence but it's not the same. LSU is like a...

This thread seems to have been caused by the comments of Dan Dierdorf (sp?). Dierdorf is a moron. (That's probably a compliment.) Year's ago, he spent a large part of a Saints' game making fun of the Fleur-de-lis emblem on the Saints' helmets. He suffers from an incurable disease called "diarrhe...

All good points. I can understand the corners needing help, but the blown coverages concerned me the most. Not much could be done about the time we got the ball.
Time outs have been a problem for a while. When we started using time outs in the early 2nd half, Danielson commented that we migh...

On GA's last drive, we didn't blitz. But on our last drive, GA did blitz. Murray had all day. Mett was rushed. I thought this made the difference at the end.

| Tiger Rant|| re: LSU defense needs some work - wil on 9/15/13 at 10:50 am|
1. After the number of D players we lost, it's not a surprise the defense needs some work. No way you can lose that many players and have an equally good defense at the start of the season.
2. I don't think you can make conclusions on what Kent St. did on O when there was obviously a l...

Because to a lot of sports reporters, Saban is what a coach is supposed to be, and Les Miles isn't. I think they don't like Coach Miles because he's different. It bugs the hell out of them. JUst remember how most of the experts picked Bama in that game. It drove them crazy when Miles outcoached ...

ANSWER: A safety who can't play pass coverage in a pass happy league and wiffs on tackles down field because he "shoulder-tackles" and doesn't use his arms. The same guy who blew coverages 2-3 times in the Seattle playoff loss 3 years ago and the SF playoff loss 2 years ago that were major factors...

I never understood why LSU couldn't use Shephard as a running back the way Florida used Jeff Demps. I remember Demps being quite an offensive weapon at FL. Shephard's taller than Demps by about 5 inches, so he'd have had to bulk up some. But with LSU's weight program, I don't see why that would b...

| Tiger Rant|| re: LIst of Offensive problems - wil on 1/1/13 at 5:49 pm|
Okay, I agree to some extent. But even when the right play is called, the execution is frequently off. Especially on pass blocking and overthrown balls. Do you think having the O-line coach as the OC is hurting the pass blocking? To me this is a big problem, because the pass blocking has been a p...

That's hilarious. On 4, I don't know. Maybe they run simple routes because they don't think Mett will have enough time to throw the ball.
| Tiger Rant|| re: Miles made the right calls, deal with it - wil on 1/1/13 at 4:46 pm|
The defense was on the field for 102 plays. The average is 50-60 plays. They were out there for about 7 quarters of football plays. No defensive team or secondary can withstand that. Eventually they broke from exhaustion. Please don't blame any defensive players for this loss. ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: LIst of Offensive problems - wil on 1/1/13 at 4:37 pm|
You're right, there were a few passes to Ware. But the way he lined up let you call the play. I was able to call a few plays in advance too last night, which is kind of my point. If you and I are doing this, then defensive Coordinators on other teams are probably having an esy time doing it. ...

| Tiger Rant|| LIst of Offensive problems - wil on 1/1/13 at 2:26 pm|
Just a fans idea of offensive problems. I'm interested in what other people think, or are seeing something different:
1. Hill not on field nearly enough.
2. Plays can be guessed by personnel on field (eg, Michael Ford equals sweep, Ware doesn't run outside)
3. Never/rarely use tight end
