re: Scott Walker Didn't Finish College. And? - Bankshot
As long as Walker didn't lie about it I don't see why people care he didn't finish his college degree. I've met various people, mostly older than me, who left college before getting their degree because they found a job/career they enjoyed and didn't have to get the degree. ...

re: Most CWS Appearances WITHOUT Winning a Title (SEC Edition) - Bankshot
Tennessee...had a couple of good runs, but never were a threat to win the CWS.
They had a really good team in 1995 (with Todd Helton and RA Dickey) but hit that buzzsaw of a team in CS Fullerton....

re: Most exciting run you have seen in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament - Bankshot
I remember watching part of the 1985 final between Villanova and Georgetown. My dad was watching the game, and I really didn't know anything about either team. I had no clue it was an upset until a few years later. I was 9 years old at the time and really didn't keep up with college basketball ba...

re: This is Jack Burton in the Pork-Chop Express - Bankshot
Kurt Russell was pretty big back in the mid to late 80's and I figured there would be a sequel considering the ending. However, I later found out the movie really bombed at the box office. ...

It might be before some of the folks on this board's time, but the run by Loyola Marymount was pretty awesome. It was also without their best player in Hank Gathers. Also, the Michigan run the year before in 1989 with Glen Rice was pretty good....

A great underrated film from the 80's. It's a shame it didn't do well at the box office, which meant no potential follow-up film....

re: Who is your pick to win the 2015 Sprint Cup Championship - Bankshot
Yes, a lot of NASCAR fans considered him a yankee and he started beating Earnhardt out for championships. I just remember hearing an old driver whose name escapes me (retired by the time Gordon was competing) make the point that Gordon had advantages the prior generation of drivers didn't have. ...

re: Who is your pick to win the 2015 Sprint Cup Championship - Bankshot
My understanding is that the older NASCAR fans (mostly the old Petty and Earnhardt fans) hated JG because he was so young and already driving for Hendrick (with the best crew members and equipment). Back in the 70's and 80's, the young drivers typically had to work their way to the best teams. ...

re: If you list the all-time top 3 RBs for each SEC school - Bankshot
I always thought Charlie Garner was Tennessee's most under appreciated RB. He only played two seasons and had to share the ball with James Stewart and Aaron Hayden. If memory serves, he was #3 on Tennessee's all time rushing list after his two seasons....

re: Older SEC fans, please tell me about the 1980s SEC football landscape - Bankshot
Here's a topic. Quarterback play in the SEC wasn't that great in the 1980's. It seemed like the only QB's that stood out from that decade were Kerwin Bell, Tommy Hodson and Kurt Page. None of those had much of an NFL career....

re: One thing you remember from each Super Bowl you've watched - Bankshot
I've watched at least part of every Super Bowl since Super Bowl XX. The weird part was that it didn't dawn on me until after the game (since it was such a blowout) that Walter Payton had not scored. The most shocking turn of events in a Super Bowl I can remember had to be in XXII when the Red...

I was in the 4th grade. If my memory is correct, the launch had already been scrubbed before. re: 10 facts about Ronald Reagan - Bankshot
I grew up in the 80's and early 90's when AIDS was widely discussed. My mother, who was a nurse, pretty much summed up those at the highest risk (those who share needles and homosexuals/bisexuals). Granted she would always advocate using protection even to heterosexuals because of the wide range o...

I want to see this. I was a kid when Atari was popular. The ET game was easily the worst Atari game I can remember. I bought it in the $5 bargain bin back in the mid-80's. I probably still have it in a box at my parents' house now that I think about it....

re: What is your team's most epic collapse? - Bankshot
Football: 1992 Peach Bowl against UNC. Up 14-0, could have easily been 28-0 if not for two holding calls and then offense and special teams collapse in the second half. Two punt blocks and also an int. return for TD. Ended up losing 21-17. 1994 against Bama. Blow 10 point lead in the last se...
