re: Dog bite situation - BM7133
Lots of bull shite replies in here. The only person who knows the answer is you. When you put the dog in its place you could tell if it got the point or not....deep down. If you ask yourself if it would ever happen again and you cant confidently say no then its probably time for it to go. That bei...

I have no idea. I know when i was dealing with it i googled and it seems like many breeds do it....just dont give a shite. Some do it for fun. I am pretty sure our issue was the scent of a fine young lady about 400 yards away lol. I cant prove it but it seems that was the way he was headed(repeat...

Don't get a wireless fence for a mastiff. Tried that. If whatever they want is beyond the perimeter....and i mean really want (like a female)...its useless. They are too tough. Been there, done that....

re: Pitbull attacks, child dies - BM7133
I believe it is on the owners. They make a decision to own a certain dog. That includes being responsible for its actions at all times. In this case it was the owners fault for allowing this to happen. If it is too much trouble to monitor the dog at all times when children are around or if the d...

I was wondering about the type of mastiff u were referring to...english mastiffs arent to agile. I dont want to harp on boerboels but they are the most agile of the mastiff breeds. And Pu....i used to hang out on the gaming board...bowel movement is far from original....

That is a good point...I never realized just how tough mastiffs were until I thought about getting one and started visiting breeders of different types. They rarely show pain. ok i used the term domesticated lightly...it was tame...i went in the pen but if they guy who owned it wasn't in there, along with my dad, i would have shite. I was pretty unnerved. So let me guess...mastiffs...english and bull mastiffs? Lets see...lumbering and undersized are the way i describe those two Rotts...no offense to any owners are not really great dogs. I agree that most breeds arent a match for the wolf. There are some that are and large in part all those who say otherwise are not experienced with those breeds. Its not personal at all but when you try to prove a point whether it be on the internet or wherever and you try to use "facts" that dont pan out dont be surprised when you are asked to clarify. I actually have personal experience with wolves which i have mentioned until now. A family local to me h...

re: Wolf kills and eats dog after battle with owner - BM7133
I just find the national geographic bite force test to be off. So the wolf managed 400 lbs but when "defending itself" 1200? So if the mastiff was at 550 not defending itself what would it have been defending itself? From what i understand bite force is directly related to the width of the jaw. ...

re: Wolf kills and eats dog after battle with owner - BM7133
The Boerboel was developed in a cruel and harsh land full of danger and with no veterinarians in sight. This was a wild and untamed land with many predators such as the baboon, hyena, leopard, lion, and the puma. This breed of dog not only had to protect the family and livestock (herd) from such ...

Yeah thats him. My pups other grandfather is bigger than him but does t have the score that he does. His mother is a very light fawn and he falls closer to her than he does to that reddish brown. That boerboel that was posted isnt the best example of the breed to say the least. It looks more like an english mastiff. I suck at posting pics but you can google the dog "Pinnacle Havoc", which is a much better representation of how they should look. He is also the grandfather of my pup. Our b...

I think everyone saying the wolf is the definitive winner against all dogs is naive. Sure the average pet that doesnt have to "survive" day to day would be at a disadvantage but that being said some breeds are just major badasses. I have Boerboels and without looking it up i know their bites are g...
