I'm not overly computer savvy. it's been fun. I know we weren't going to change the world here. But I did enjoy the discussion. I have about 125 crawfish traps left to put out and I need to get going. You guys have a good weekend....

There are others ways to do things without being forced. But I see you have no concept of what that is. You are incapable of conversing intellectually. I guess I'm bitching about limited people as yourself....

They're not. I work in both industries. I am not saying everything they deal will is ok to breathe. That is not allowed in the atmosphere. They have had to adapt to keep the more toxic byproducts from getting to the public. It does cost them a lot of money to do this but they have had to. ...

I can prove it, I was there. Look I know you are cane farmer, but try to keep the conversation intellectual and not so hostile. I am in agriculture and am not hating you guys. I was just curious as to why we impose different laws on different industries. I know cane is big bucks to the state but so ...

Burning Sugarcane - cattleman
Traveling I-10 today headed west near Duson. A huge field of sugarcane being burnt . Wind blowing to the northwest. Duson, Rayne ,Crowley and most of Acadia Parish covered with smoke. Why is it legal to do this. I know the cane farmers have to get a "permit" but that process is a joke. Why is this a...

re: Big duck and geese question - cattleman
I agree about waiting on the big ducks. You'll probably never kill many geese there. From what you described it is not their ideal environment. They'd rather not land in ponds while down here . Most of the geese would be west of your property....

re: Duck blind argument. What's the difference In a squealer and a tree duck? - cattleman
What we have here in SW La. that migrate here and nest in the rice fields are fulvous tree ducks. We always called them squealers or Mexican squealers. There do no land in trees over here and are not the black bellied variety some of my friends are confusing them with. BTW I love wood ducks and may ...

re: Duck blind argument. What's the difference In a squealer and a tree duck? - cattleman
In Sw La. we have thousands upon thousands of fulvous tree ducks migrate to the rice fields to lay and raise their young every spring. They leave in the fall and head back to Mexico. That's what we call squealers. Never heard a wood duck called that....
