I hope like hell that is closer to the truth. Our friends live in the northern part of Seattle and the mapquest showed 3 hours.
Could be then, depending on the time watch for traffic. I would personally leave real early so you are not rushed when you get there....

re: Looking for Mt. Ranier Advice. - QuietTiger
Is it really 3 hours away, wow don't remember it being that long. If you drive up to Paradise Lodge, you can very likely hike to snow. As far as your question, I love the outdoors so I'd do it easily rather than stay in the city. Bring a jacket just in case....

re: Concrete Anchor - QuietTiger
More than likely newer things out there now. We used to use what the old timers called Acme Johnson's. You drilled a certain size hole, drop the anchor in, set with given setting tool and screwed machine screw into it. Use big washers and drill the plate a little bigger for ease of placing....

re: What's your best memory in the outdoors? - QuietTiger
Just a few: Catching fish in Arky in such clear water fish didn't seem to be there. Walking up on a bear on the top of a mountain in the Smokys. Hitting the crest of a summit at daybreak, without a bear sighting. Getting my run course diverted by moose. Seeing what a red tide can do and still c...
