re: Metal roof question - mallardhank
If you install the metal roof with exposed fasteners you should have a layer of "ice and water shield" membrane under it. This will seal around the screws and keep the total package dryer for a longer time frame. This type of roof panel is also thinner, probably 26 or 28 gauge material without a K...

re: Paint: Valspar and Behr vs. Higher End Benjamin Moore and SW -- Opinions? - mallardhank
It's better than super. It covers well, hides lack of experience well and touches up. Along with decent paint you will need quality equipment to apply whatever paint you decide on. Think Purdy brushes and quality roller covers. Get these at SW and Ben Moore stores. ...

re: Buddy trapped a nice coyote. - mallardhank
If you know the right way to skin and cure the pelts there is pretty good money to be had. There may not be enough if these prime dogs down south to make it worth your while. When the weather is right the boys up north make a killing on coyotes, fox and other fur bearers, but make no mistake it i...

re: Buddy trapped a nice coyote. - mallardhank
That's really nice for a southern dog if indeed he was trapped down here. I have friends in Iowa that trap and cure the pelts for market, and those animals have much nicer fur. Very much like this one....

re: State Your Theory on How the West Should Deal With Radical Islam - mallardhank
Read that there are about 25% of all Muslims that are of the extremely conservative persuasion. That's over 250,000,000. Most of all Muslims are totally uneducated and dirt poor with no hope of ever Improving. So there is no shortage of those that will blow themselves or their children up for do...

re: Breaking ground on the St. Claude street car line - mallardhank
The neutral ground down St Claude does have enough room for two sets of tracks -there were two sets there when I grew up on St Claude in the '50s. We rode the street cars to downtown for shopping and doctors visits . If General Motors hadn't bought off governmental officials for the idea of busses...

re: Liberal outrage- guns were very popular gifts this year - mallardhank
Saw a film recently about a theoretical power outage in our country. This scenario could in reality happen anywhere at any time. It focused on different individuals and the predicaments they were in - the scary part was those that lived in large cities and didn't have a firearm for protection. ...

re: Liberal outrage- guns were very popular gifts this year - mallardhank
These discussions never seem to address the fact that the governmental agencies and military are highly organized and those that would rise up against them are not. Even if many members of those military units and law agencies refuse to participate there will still be enough that do to thwart a civ...

We were transferred out of the New Orleans area in the early sixties, which was about the start of the migration out of the area. To this day this population decline has continued.
