re: Most you've ever won at a Casino - LSUEEAlum

I added the zeros wrong at first, thought it was $1500. When the blue screen of death came up it read...

re: Filled up my truck for $23 this morning. What an awesome feeling. - LSUEEAlum
Three years ago my 401k was up 22%, two years ago it was up 8%, last year it was flat. Can't remember any further back but you realize the Dow was at 6k in 2009 and it went up above 18k last year. That's triple in an 7 year span. I call that pretty good....

I'm 35 years out so I am with you and it's really not losing money until you sell but still sucks to see it down that much. And of course I probably won't have a job soon but such is life. It will come back. Always does....

re: TOPS Only Requires an ACT of 20 - LSUEEAlum
And I know of one who had an incredible ACT score, got a full ride to Tulane and flunked out after a year
Exactly. Some people just are not good at taking standardized test. I would not have received tops if 24 was the required minimum. However I graduated with a 3.4 gpa. I knew ...

re: How much does it really cost to go to LSU? - LSUEEAlum
Graduated in 2008. I had the lowest level of tops. It took me 4.5 years to graduate so I had to essentially pay for my last semester. Grand total for all 4.5 years was about $15k (including books and fees). I lived at home all 4 plus years and my parents paid for my food. Walked out of school debt f...

re: The eternal Powerball question: lump sum vs installment plan? - LSUEEAlum
I'm using the current example. The jackpot is 675 million, 415 million cash, after taxes I assumed 215 million. I am assuming I can atleast make 3% interest on that which would be about 6.5 million. I am also not an idiot with money and I might beable to spend 6.5 million the first few years without...
