re: Saints Have NFL's Worst Cap Situation, Panthers to Three-peat? - Geauxgurt
That's a lot of money to manipulate especially with the holes the Saints need to fill
Do you not understand the difference between a built in option and forced restructure? For example, Galette's roster bonus was designed so a large portion of his signing bonus can be spread ac...

re: Saints Have NFL's Worst Cap Situation, Panthers to Three-peat? - Geauxgurt
So seems like these Panther fans have about as much understanding of the cap situation as these so called "journalists" do. They don't seem to understand things like using roster bonuses to help spread signing bonuses over more years later in the contract, but hey, not like it matters to actuall...

re: Junior Galette - Geauxgurt
His Roster bonus is not guaranteed at all until next month is what I thought. And also, didn't his contract have a clause about getting arrested or behavior that he was freaking out about when that whole mess started?...

re: Have the "Harden will be a bust as a starter" people come back to eat crow? - Geauxgurt
Why don't people wait until he does something like not choking in the playoffs before anointing the guy anything. He's a great player, but he's not better than Durant or Westbrook. Also, he didn't fit what that team needed money-wise as far as spreading their cap space around without hitting the ...

re: Is There Really A QB Competition This Spring... - Geauxgurt
Nope. Lee didn't play until hatch got hurt. JJ didn't play until Lee got hurt. Harris started not due to injury or suspension. Saw the field earlier than any qb in Les' tenure. There is a huge diff IMO.
Wrong. Lee and Hatch split almost half and half the initial snaps to start that...
He's a pretty elite recruiter. He had a top 10 class his 1st recruiting class, and this upcoming class will be around 6 or 7 most likely. 2 top 10 recruiting classes in 3 years is pretty elite
And in that time has 1 post-season game in an NIT that they got blasted. In one post y...
I think after 2 recruiting classes it's a little early to call the guy a complete bust
Did I call him a bust? I said he's not near the level of his mentor, and doesn't show the promise to be. When you can clearly see that Dale Brown was a better X's and O's guy than Jones that shou...

re: Let's Do A Little Comparing Of Basketball Teams - Geauxgurt
Those teams also have significantly better coaches as far as X's and O's go. People aren't expecting a top 10 team here, but to anyone with a brain and any knowledge of basketball, they see a very poorly coached, young, but talented team. Jones is a very very good recruiter (not Daddy Dale good ...
Well, you cited those 3 guys as examples of college QB's that Cameron coached up during their college careers. My point is that, strictly as college QB's, these guys had more ability than Jennings; hence their ceilings were higher.
He's also comparing how Cameron "coached up" basi...
Always going to have the negatigers pointing out what we lack instead of what we got, but really...who would you trade classes with? I see that 247 has Tennessee as #2 in the SEC - would you really swap classes with them? Of course Bama is far and away #1, but we've clearly seen that #1 class...
This coming from Shea this morning. Thinking this is why Martin is coming to LSU. Spot opened up, now it's coming down to Dillion. Does Martin coming shy him away. I have concerns that something is up with Dillion.
So now LSU is taking LOIs from players that are almost guarantee...

re: Brandon Martin just flipped to LSU!!! - Geauxgurt
Doesn't a player sending in a LOI and the school accepting it cost them a towards the 25 this year, and any potential counting back the following year even if the player doesn't make it to campus? I remember them instituting that rule to avoid schools oversigning JUCO bound players....

re: Brandon's high school coach comments - Geauxgurt
Bull shite. If Harris were allowed to play through his deficiencies, which reportedly have little to do with actual game experience, LSU would have lost 3-4 more games and your ilk would be the first here calling for Miles' head. The entire rant wanted Harris to start at AU, then melted down an...
"The big concern with him is about his mental makeup," said one of the coaches. "When we saw him in Dallas, he kept telling people how he'd never really been coached before. re: Brandon's high school coach comments - Geauxgurt
This is ludicrous
Why? There is a difference between mop up duty and one start and actually getting legitimate game experience. The second half of the season wasted Harris' year. It isn't about him being the starter at all. It's about using the season effectively.
He ...
Saban liked him enough to bring him back though.
As a position coach. I agree that there are too many variables, but this is truly a mediocre hire given his history. He's been a DC for 4 years. In that time, he's one defense in the top 19 and 2 30th or above. I don't think...
