Paid off student loan, credit score dropped 28 points - DownshiftAndFloorIt
How does this happen? I don't understand credit scores at all. I have two student loans and paid one off in full last week. The next day I got a credit alert and when I went check, my debt had reduced by the amount I paid on the loan and my score dropped 28 points. Did I do that wrong??? It was ...

Buying property in Louisiana - DownshiftAndFloorIt
I'm looking to buy a couple of acres in Covington to build a small house on and raise a few cows. I have no clue who to talk to about borrowing money for undeveloped property. I'm not sure I can even do it. Do regular realtors deal in undeveloped/agricultural land? Is there some state department...

Need some music help from the French speaking OBers - DownshiftAndFloorIt
I heard a song on the radio this morning on the Cajun French radio and one of the lines was "the fish are biting and I'm a gone pecan" I need to know who sings it so I can get that on my phone. Anybody have an idea? I feel like some of y'all ville platte guys could figure it out. ...

Handgun sights/grips for GP100 - DownshiftAndFloorIt
The shield is gone and a 3" gp100 is in. It needs a night sight and a less massive grip. The front sight is pinned and supposedly SP101 sights fit it perfectly. The grip is atrociously huge. I know nothing about what's good and not good with these things. Suggestions???...

Why is it taboo for "professional" deer hunters to shoot more than once? - DownshiftAndFloorIt
Why do they almost never shoot more than once? Often they make a horrible shot, the deer is still clearly in view and still alive, and they start high fiving the camera man and using binoculars. Why do they never make an attempt to finish off the animal?...

Why do people in Harahan/Kenner/New Orleans hate turn signals? - DownshiftAndFloorIt
For those who are natives, why do you not use your blinkers when you're getting ready to turn? It's an epidemic. After a few months of careful observation, close to half of the drivers I see do not use their turn signals around here. Plenty of the ones that do don't turn them on until they've starte...

Bought a Shield 9mm today(update pg3) - DownshiftAndFloorIt
Just got back from shooting and I have some questions about it. 1) Will the magazine spring loosen up? This thing is a dog to load full. 2) What kind of accuracy should I be expecting? I'm used to long barreled revolvers and hitting a can at 30 yards is usually pretty easy. It was taking me ...

Garmin 550 pro E-collar stacked with tracking collar (paging wick) - DownshiftAndFloorIt
Thinking about getting one for my coon dogs. Does anybody have any experience with them, or more importantly running a dog with a pile of collars on them? Good tricks to speed-heal a dog's pad - DownshiftAndFloorIt
My coon dog tore a pad on his front paw. I've been putting some EMT gel dope on it and it keeps it from hurting him for a while, but I don't think that's a good thing.
