Anybody here follow "Welcome to Nightvale"? - Methuselah
I'm not a regular follower but my daughter follows it and I went to a live showing in New Orleans with her about a year or so ago. I actually enjoyed it. Pretty clever writing. But I don't know if I could put the time in to be a regular listener The [link=(http://youtu.be/Ujksjzqrhys)]Pilot ...

What detective would you go with - Colombo, Monk or Shawn (from Psych)? - Methuselah
You need a detective to solve a murder. Who do you choose? Columbo - Had some great deductive reasoning and Q & A but his method pretty much relied on suspects stupidly talking to him when they should have just said no comment. Monk - Used a bit more observational method along with a little q...

Rank the most influential Founding Fathers in your view - Methuselah
I'm thinking mostly along the lines of things like: Were they in it from the beginning? Did they play a part in the War itself? Did they play a part in the early government(s)? Did they generally contribute to the survival of the young country? Not looking for whether one or the other necessaril...

Otzi the Iceman was all tatted up. - Methuselah
Dude had 61 tats. [link=(http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/d-brief/2015/01/30/scientists-mapped-otzi-icemans-61-tattoos/#.VNFr9fRDtAJ)]Otzi's tattoos[/link] I guess the old saying the more things change, the more they stay the same holds true....

What sets apart revolutions that work from those that don't? - Methuselah
Watching the Sons of Liberty last week, got me thinking. (Yeah, I know they took some, er, liberties with the facts). But thing that got me thinking was that most revolutions must be incredible long shots when they start. After all, the entrenched side has a decided advantage in power (...

Are Tigers like OBJ and Mett the new style setters in the NFL? - Methuselah
Beckham with his hair style and Mettenberger with his coat of many colors seem to be ahead of the game. [img]http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp66/Methuselah99/Mobile%20Uploads/B2rdw3sCEAECDeg.jpg[...

Which of these "military actions" had the least chance of succeeding at first? - Methuselah
Of course we know now which succeeded and which failed. But in your opinion, which were the biggest underdogs when they started? You can even give odds if you want. I put my definition of "victory" with each but feel free to state your own if you disagree with mine. Spartus' revolt against Rome ...

Who would you say is the most used villain in film, television, books & comics - Methuselah
Outside of the devil/Satan characters and maybe Dracula, I'd say Morgan Le Fey might be pretty high up there. Mostly in Arthurian stuff but sometimes (like last week's The Librarian which prompted this thought) it is as a stand alone villain, sometimes one who has survived to modern times....

How important is the "college" part of college football to you? - Methuselah
All the recruiting, early departing, rumors of money and assorted other "scandals", etc. got me wondering: Is the actual college that your favorite team plays for the deciding factor for you? Would you cheer just as passionately if it was the exact same team but was more of a "club" structur...

Looking for some info on LSU Graduate school in Library Science - Methuselah
Anybody got any experience with this? My daughter is looking to apply. How competitive is it to get in? I understand it's a pretty small program as far as numbers are concerned. Is a very good GPA and good references enough or do you have to ace the GRE also? Any other info about the prog...

Coaching Changes
So, if the 11th coach rule is voted in, what would you do with it? - Methuselah
What coaching position would you add? And what are some of the names you would pursue? On the one hand, it seems to me like offense could use a shot of the same energy and mojo that defense seems to have gotten today. So maybe a dedicated QB coach? On the other hand, what is the breakdown n...

Is this the Riverboat Gambler Les that made this hire? - Methuselah
I've admitted before I don't know squat about defensive coordinators so I can't tell if this is a good hire, a terrible hire, a great hire or what. But judging by the little I've read and heard seems like Steele has had some poor stats here and there in his resume'. So, is this Les taking a sh...

What college coach looks least like "The University of . . . " head coach? - Methuselah
Looking a Urban Meyer in the pre-game warm ups and stuff I was struck that he didn't really look like "the coach of The Ohio State University". Of course I don't think that is really that uncommon now. Back in the day, Bryant was "Alabama", Hayes was "Ohio State", Osborne was "Nebraska", Darry...

Some thoughts on re-watching the original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes IV-VI) - Methuselah
I've re-watched IV (A New Hope) and V (Empire Strikes Back) with my son and some of his friends while they're home from college. A couple of things caught my attention: - Empire Strikes back is not only better than A New Hope. It is significantly better. I love A New Hope and enjoyed re-watchi...

Are potential coaches are a bit put off by Alleva's stance on Chief's buyout - Methuselah
If I remember right, Alleva did some saber rattling about collecting the buyout on Chavis' contract and there was some question about the wording. I wonder if that might not be a negative factor considered by coaches looking at the DC position?...

Give me a primer on O's recruiting prowess, including lately. - Methuselah
I know he's considered a top flight recruiter but don't really know any of the details. What were some of his big "gets". Was it he who got McKnight to USCw? And who were some of his big fish he landed at Ole Miss? Also, what was the last class/school he recruited for and how was there cl...

Is "Jesus Christ Superstar" the GOAT musical? - Methuselah
I'd say yes. But it's hard for me to judge because I generally don't care for musicals. I loved this one (seems like they went out and got the best voices they could find when casting it - they could all really sing). Outside of that the only musicals I can remember even liking were Grease an...
