 | Rufus Johnson vs Chase Thomas - Scoob on 4/28/13 at 11:25 am Rufus drafted (6th rd, I know) on pure potential; but we don't have the slightest clue if he will make the 1st cut.
Chase went undrafted completely despite a stellar career; hell he was All American in 2011. I guess the knock is- he's max'ed out his physical potential... but damn, he seems like a...

 | UDFAs who will stick - Scoob on 4/27/13 at 9:16 pm Just my guess on guys who are practically locks despite not even being drafted:
DaRick Rogers, WR Bills
Chase Thomas, OLB Saints
these guys might end the season starting.
Who else ya got? ...

 | our new defense, against the Falcons - Scoob on 4/27/13 at 2:03 pm So, the plan is that Vaccaro blankets Gonzalez in key situations. Jenkins sits his large arse in the middle of the line and makes life hell for Turner and/or Jackson.
About right?

 | Here's a weird thought... - Scoob on 4/25/13 at 9:45 pm The only times Harper has looked good is when he's up in the box. He plays solid against the run, and he's honestly been one of our best pass rushers on the blitz.
Other than his (obviously small) size, he plays like a ... outside linebacker.
Not that I would want this over a true linebacker ...

 | Any regrets joining the SEC, Aggies? - Scoob on 3/21/13 at 1:28 pm Not a flame, just an observation on how 2012 turned out.
Big 12 was weak, and you could have ran the table. Decent chance at being 12-0, and as we saw you could play with Bama in a one-game scenario. More than likely, you would have smoked Notre Dame had that been the matchup. This could have be...

 | Steelers rumored to release Harrison- should we - Scoob on 3/8/13 at 8:44 am sorry if this has been already brought up, but I didn't see it on the first page.
He'd be expensive, and Goodell would consider the move a match made in hell (I can only imagine the conversations between Vilma and Harrison if they were on the same team), but:
we did have the worst defense in th...

 | La Tech question - Scoob on 3/1/13 at 6:22 am I'm an LSU fan and alum, but I've always supported the state schools in the past. I just noticed their basketball team is 25-3 and ranked (wow, congrats to the Bulldogs). Combined with their last football season, they're having a great year.
Really a couple questions- are they a lock for the NCAA...

 | ESPN radio- trying to destroy CFB - Scoob on 2/17/13 at 9:00 am if already posted, sorry about that.
Yesterday I was driving down to NOLA for my son's high school lacrosse game (against Jesuit, we lost dammit), and listening to espn radio. They had Mel Kiper on, and for whatever reason they seemed hellbent on ruining college football as we know it. The issue...

 | Looking ahead to 2013 season - Scoob on 1/2/13 at 10:36 am Miles made the comment that the 2013 offense might be his best yet. Granted, that's probably something over 90% of coaches will say about "next year", but how much is in place for it to be true?
What we have coming back:
1) a QB in Mett who seems very skilled, and made a lot of progress over the...

 | wake up, fanbase - Scoob on 12/3/12 at 4:33 pm You know how certain teams' fans are stereotyped? That has been the case with LSU. Up until very recently, LSU fans were perceived as the Stiffler, the Spicoli of the college crowd. Loud, rowdy, crazy party fools, going to dominate in any environment.
What are we now? We're acting like whiny, se...

 | REG-GIE!! REG-GIE!! - Scoob on 11/25/12 at 3:23 pm You just THOUGHT Reggie Bush left the Saints. But in truth, he's in deep cover, to take out Saints problems when we can't get them officially.
R. Bush 14 carries, 87 yds, including 21 yd TD and additional 22 yd run.
Dolphins 24, Seattle 21
and now the door is open!...

 | Your bowl really sucks if you don't get a top 10 SEC team - Scoob on 11/24/12 at 6:53 pm Ok, so what, exactly, are we looking at? Sugar gets a pass because they WOULD get Fla, if Notre Dame wins. I guess the rest of the BCS does too, because of the 2 team rule, otherwise it likely would be the B-SEC-CS games.
Cotton: LSU or A&M
Cap 1: Bama/UGA
Chik Fila: LSU or South Carolina

 | Auburn fans: will the team play for Chizik today? - Scoob on 11/24/12 at 12:27 pm He's toast, and everybody knows it. Despite the buyout and previous bowl seasons, despite the BCS title just a couple years ago, this is the type of season that would get even Saban canned. yeah, I know, "Saban would never have this season"; but the point being Chizik is about to be unemployed.

 | Next year's offense - Scoob on 11/24/12 at 9:39 am Mettenberger + Landry + Beckham + Hill. Along with, what, 8 offensive linemen who started at least one or two games, right?
That doesn't even consider the depth, such as most of the backs coming back for their senior years (nobody has had the year to make themselves draft eligible).

 | still want a new offensive coordinator? - Scoob on 11/11/12 at 10:27 am It took awhile for us to adjust to the new scheme, but I think things are developing nicely now. | continued SEC dominance- predict final top 10! - Scoob on 11/11/12 at 9:26 am The national title streak may be over, but there's a decent shot the SEC will finish with 6 teams in the top 10. That is amazing, more impressive than a single team finishing #1.

 | Can we beat Bama the old-school way? - Scoob on 10/25/12 at 4:44 pm Hi guys, this is a serious question for the older fans, those who remember a different style of football than what we see now (as exemplified by Drew Brees and the Saints). Younger fans don't remember seeing guys like Earl, Dickerson, Bo or Herschel, so they probably wouldn't get the gist of it.
