Arctic Man is the Alaskan version of Spring Break but young and old show up as well. It's a combination skiing/snowmobile competition.
Appears he disappeared into a moulin, which is a water carved hole in a glacier. We have many in the area, and it's usually good to be roped up when hiking out...

I know quite a few of these guys up there. Haines is becoming one of the premiere heli-skiing, if not outdoor areas in the world. The Coastal ranges around here can get up to 100 ft of snow in a year.
