This is a 2008 Cabernet from California that retails for about $20 a bottle in the New Orleans area.
It was pretty good when I opened it yesterday and it only got better as it had time to breathe.

The service was good and so was the food.
It's a shame the restaurant is in a crappy neighborhood and almost forgotten about b/c I enjoyed the meal.

A local wine store hosted a tasting for Kilikanoon wines yesterday.
It's an Australian winery that I'd never heard of before....but they were all good wines :cheers:
We were able to try 7 or 8 wines, retailing from $13 all the way to $200 per bottle.

Another Australian wine for me tonight.
It's the Penley Estate 2008 Shiraz and it goes pretty well with the Theo's Pizza I had for dinner tonight. :cheers:

I just opened a bottle of Penley Estate "Phoenix" 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Coonawarra region of Australia and it is a good wine.
This is only the second bottle I've ever had from this producer (the '07 Shiraz being the first) and both have been great.
