I'm not very seasoned fishing in Lake P. We usually run out to Borgne but tomorrow we would like to launch in Manchac and run to the Causeway to try some specks.
Anyone have any pointers/reports? I know a lot of people like to do slow trawls with Rat-L-Traps but our trolling motor is out and ID...

Any tips? I was going to get a 5 gallon bucket and throw some different cheeses and chopped up meats in and let it merry in the sun for a while...

I know you want to troll at a speed between 1.3-2.3 mph, but do most guys use their trolling motor or just bump their motor in gear? I would imagine your trolling motor would get run down pretty quickly.
I was going to go today, but the reported 3-5' waves turned me off. I may go out tomorrow....
