Should I take 12 to Hammond then head south or is their an alternate route?

i've downloaded a synaptics driver for my laptop and tried to change the settings but when i go to control panel > mouse > it doesn't show a touchpad mouse, it shows a standard mouse (which i don't have) and i can't figure out why it's not showing my touchpad mouse???????
