| Tiger Rant|| Truth about Clemson defense that Steele took over - Geauxgurt on 1/15/15 at 12:20 am|
Clemson's defensive rankings under Vic Koenning from 2005 to 2008, which are the years before Steele took over:
2005 - #11 Scoring Defense, #20 Total Defense
2006 - #16 Scoring Defense, #13 Total Defense
2007 - #10 Scoring Defense, #9 Total Defense
2008 - #13 Scoring Defense, #18 Total Defense...
| Tiger Rant|| Any chance LSU finds a better OOC opponent for the start of next season? - Geauxgurt on 1/2/15 at 6:53 pm|
While playing Syracuse is a nice P5 cupcake game and not a crap FCS game, is it unreasonable to believe LSU could find another legit OOC opponent for the start of next season? McNeese or Eastern Michigan are just jokes.
Edited to correct for Eastern Michigan. Brain fart and quick...
| More Sports Board|| Seahawks defense's current winning streak overrated? - Geauxgurt on 12/23/14 at 12:39 am|
In the 5 game winning streak for the Seahawks, they've faced the following QBs:
Colin Kapernick X2
Seattle's defense is great, but it is funny to see how much they are being lauded when they haven't played an offense worth a crap. While Philly has been...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| They can't trade Jimmy - Geauxgurt on 12/21/14 at 2:11 pm|
He will actually cost more to trade than his cap hit would be next year. Saints are stuck with him at least one more year....
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| Does Junior get the contract bump if his 12th sack comes in playoffs? - Geauxgurt on 12/17/14 at 11:48 am|
Since Galette's contract bumps up $7 M if he gets to 12 sacks and he currently sits at 9, what happens if the Saints make the playoffs and he finishes the season with only 11, and then gets the 12th in a playoff game?...
| Tiger Rant|| Les Miles vs Tommy Tuberville (an SEC Tale) - Geauxgurt on 12/15/14 at 11:28 am|
Looking at their respective careers in the SEC at their main schools (LSU for Miles and Auburn for Tuberville), it is an interesting comparison.
While overall record is an important distinction, I think the best way to evaluate a coach is by looking at their SEC records rather than overall since ...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| Are people still ignoring the coaching issues with the OL? - Geauxgurt on 12/11/14 at 6:26 pm|
I know people love to blame our OGs and their bloated contracts, but people really don't seem to connect the dots with our OL struggles and 1) losing Kromer and 2) replacing him with that worthless dung heap in Ingalls?
Ingalls is the biggest issue on the offense. Kromer was a loss that had to ha...
| More Sports Board|| 2014 FSU vs 2002 tOSU - Geauxgurt on 12/11/14 at 6:18 pm|
I know everyone has been clamoring how FSU doesn't deserve to be in the NC picture because they'd struggled in tons of games, but those same people, especially tOSU fans are more than happy to proclaim how great their 2002 NC team was despite looking worse at times than FSU did this year.
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| CB issues lie deeper than just missing on draft picks - Geauxgurt on 12/9/14 at 12:27 pm|
There is a huge issue with the Saints approach to drafting DBs and it is no clearer than if you realize that our #2 CB wasn't even a CB prospect coming out of college. Yet, the Saints decided to make him into a CB.
White was still seen as a project at both positions, yet the Saints had him on the...
| Tiger Rant|| Evaluating Cameron's impact on Mett - Geauxgurt on 12/4/14 at 1:04 pm|
Everyone looks to 2013's offensive efficiency and production as proof that Cameron worked miracles with Mettenberger. In doing this, they choose to ignore the significant imnprovements Mett made in the latter parts of the 2012 season as well as the emergence of Hill as a primary back.
Looking at ...
| Tiger Rant|| Why do people ignore circumstances when evaluating a coaches success or failure? - Geauxgurt on 11/26/14 at 1:04 pm|
For example, let's look at DiNardo's tenure at LSU and how things were each season.
Upon arrival, DiNardo took over an LSU team that hadn't had a winning season in 6 years. Immediately turned things around in both recruiting and on the field with a 7-4-1 season.
He continued into the next sea...
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| At least the Saints are ruining every possible positive streak they have - Geauxgurt on 11/24/14 at 10:41 pm|
If you're going to end them, might as well get em out of the way all at once. :lol:
Home win streak
Primetime Home Win streak
Brees' straight games with a TD will go down in 5 weeks.
| New Orleans Saints Talk|| Why do people want this team to go to the playoffs? - Geauxgurt on 11/24/14 at 10:24 pm|
I'd rather them get a decent draft pick than waste time getting into the playoffs at 6-10 only to get destroyed. This team isn't winning a super bowl and this season is shot.
I hate to say it, but they are not gonna do anything in the playoffs. :banghead:...
| Tiger Rant|| What happened to JJ in 2010? - Geauxgurt on 11/24/14 at 4:19 pm|
Looking back at the 2008-2011 seasons, it is pretty evident that there was development and then regression with Jefferson's play as a QB.
He was not a dual-threat QB coming out of high school, but a pro-style QB prospect. He was mobile, but it wasn't a reason he was so highly rated coming out of ...
| Tiger Rant|| No QB coach on the sidelines is shafting our QBs - Geauxgurt on 11/19/14 at 4:53 pm|
I understand that Cameron prefers to coach from the press box, but there is a huge issue here especially with young players.
I rewatched Harris' play in the Auburn game and it sickened me to death to see our starting QB in the game on a bench by himself with no coaches talking to him between dri...
| Tiger Rant|| The Arkansas game was not LSU's worst yardage output since 1975 - Geauxgurt on 11/19/14 at 11:56 am|
While this sounds nice in trying to criticize Les, the coaches and the scheme, it is in fact only the second worst offensive output since 1975. How quickly people forget the 92 yards of offense and 0 points LSU produced in the 2012 BCS title game on 1/9/2012.
Now if we are talking regular season...

| Tiger Rant|| The Auburn and Arkansas games are nothing alike - Geauxgurt on 11/17/14 at 10:48 am|
I notice a lot of people harkening back to the Auburn game performance by Harris as reason he isn't "ready" or "any better" than Jennings, but are people honestly saying that the games are anything alike?
LSU's defense gave up 17 points in the first 13 minutes of that game, while after horrible p...
| Tiger Rant|| 2015 is nothing like 2007 and 2011 - Geauxgurt on 11/16/14 at 11:57 pm|
Many keep clamoring about the "4 year cycle" for Les and LSU, but 2015 will be nothing like either of those years.
First off, 2007 followed great 2005 and 2006 campaigns, while 2011 followed an 11-2 2010 season.
Secondly, in all those seasons, LSU had a 4th year or longer player starting at QB...
| Tiger Rant|| People comparing AJ's season and stats to Mett's 2012 season - Geauxgurt on 11/12/14 at 4:57 pm|
need to realize 40 things.
1) Studwara was LSU's OC in 2012 and calling the plays and Kragthorpe was QB coach.
Those two very well may have been holding back Mett who was also a 4th year player in college football. AJ is being coached by the same guy that made Mett great supposedly, and still...
