I like the idea in principle. Not just for fiscal issues, either. You should have to bear the consequences of what you supported, but you shouldn't be able to force your beliefs on others.
The problem is how to make it work in practice.
That's libertarianism in a nutshell. You want to create a street, or neighborhood, or town that's communist? More power to you. You want the same, but socialist? Have at it. Corporatist? Knock yourself out.
You just have to convince people to join your group. If they don't, you have no right to their person or property.
