Not as currently written. It will be tweaked or it won't pass.

I said yes because something will pass. But not in current form.

The Senate will drastically change it. Then it will be sent back to the House where it will not pass it.

The problem is that the Senate vote is months away. Way too much time for people to read, react and protest heavily against it.

The bill that was passed today will not become law. Something with the same name? Perhaps.

I'm still trying to figure out what it actually proposes doing. There are no spin free articles

Mainly how will it affect those with insurance through their employer?

Yes, something will. It has to. Probably not in the current form.

I'm glad someone else points this out. It's tiring going through all the spin but necessary sadly.

Employer insurance shouldn't change much as far as I can see. You may see a tweak here or there but nothing like the end of the world/people being killed in the streets stuff like BamaSJW is spewing.

That would happen no matter what unless the Bill committed to taking us further in debt to satisfy the dems.

I often wonder how far in debt we have to be before they actually notice.

I know it's labeled a liberal source, and that's a fair label for the most part, but Sarah Kliff at vox.com has been pretty good at summarizing health care issues spin free.

The only real impact on employer plans is this bill allows states to allow insurance carriers to re-institute lifetime limits. At least from what I understand. Those limits vary from state, but are usually at least $1 million, so it really only impacts a very small number.

That's where reconciliation comes in. That's exactly how Obamacare happened.

It most definitely will as ACA is already failing.

ACA is certainly failing me.

It won't. The following real quick attack ad is just one reason why.

"Why does Congressman X want to charge rape victims more for health insurance"

The amendment has the capability to very much affect employer insurance.

If you are employed in a company that operates in multiple states, if one of those states opts out of minimum coverages, pre-existing conditions and lifetime caps, you could see your employer pick the state with the lowest common denominators and provide insurance that has caps on how much they will pay in total for care, cover less benefits and raise the employees share of expenses with even higher deductibles.

Not the way it works.

The house and senate versions will be reconciled in a negotiation. Then the final product will be subject to an up or down vote in both chambers.

As marketplace carrier withdrawal (aka the death spiral) continues to accelerate, passage will become easier. There will be a ton of Soros funded BS protesters. There will be press predictions of GOP suicide on passage. It will have an effect on some of the lily livers. But in the end, good sense will prevail.

The AHCA will become law in the summer.

This logic is baffling.

The AHCA is built on the framework of the ACA.

I think this a pretty spin free article.

It will allow employers to stake their Health insurance offering to the state they operate in with the lowest quality insurance. So for example if you work for Boeing in Seattle you can now get shitty South Carolina Insurance.
