Yep, you can just see the malice in that kid's eyes. Good thing school administrators subdued this monster before he killed someone.

LINK

God forbid anyone mistake that toy for an actual weapon that could do harm.

"He told me he didn't know they would think it was a weapon or he wouldn't have brought it to school," McDonald said.

Sad that the 4th-grader has more common sense than adult education professionals?

McDonald learned it wasn't OK when he received a call from the school Tuesday.

"They told me my son brought a weapon to school and they asked me if I was aware," McDonald said Wednesday. "I asked them what it was and they said it was a plastic Nerf gun."

I'm sorry, but at that point in the conversation, I would have laughed at them over the phone and asked if they were serious.

When they said "yes," I would've asked how a nerf gun constitutes a "weapon." They are literally designed to not cause harm.

This. Zero tolerance policies exist so that low IQ school administrators aren't required to make decisions.

It's a copout for the lazy.

Yep - it is maddening.

This is what political correctness devolves into at all levels. Common sense is a liability.

I don't blame the anti-gun lobby on this. It's schools and their lack of accountability culture. They don't really care about the students and their parents.

Like any thing else, if any political group wants to get things done, people must need to know they are serious. How are we ever going to have real gun control when these idiotic things happen?
