Obamacare is not in a death spiral as so many republicans claim. Enrollment is up and premiums are stable for most people.

The die hard conservative conspiracy theorists who hope Trump was losing on purpose so Obamacatre would collapse are going to have their hopes dashed.

From your link:

Among the people who have signed up so far for 2017, 81% will receive a subsidy.

If that is not the makings of failure upon the horizon, then there is no hope for you in ever possessing common sense any time soon.

So how much is your employer paying to cover the rest of the cost?

The only people pissed are the 18-40 year olds who never felt the need to acquire health insurance before Obamacare. They gambled. When they lost somebody else paid. No different than the people they say are "not part of the system".

Less than the expenses the hospital had to eat for the uninsured 40 year fully capable of acquiring insurance prior to Obamacare.

It did what I believe was intended. Started a move toward some type of reform. Pre-existing out. Lifetime limits out.

Those things needed to go and are gone forever.

Obamacare is too limited. 20 million people?

And it made it less affordable for everybody else.

The only RUMOR I heard through Trumpcare that sounded awesome to me was the website where you could buy insurance across state line are anywhere in the country. Sort of an amazon for insurance. That sounded great.

Legitimate question though. Is there anybody who wants to belly up to the insurance bar? Any new players who want to try their luck in that shitstorm of healthcare?

Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution:

"Article I, Section 8, Clause 1:

The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States."

DOD is covered, Health Insurance is not. Plus insurance does NOT equal care.

Stop stealing from me and others under the name of an unconstitutional tax to pay for other people having an insurance card!

Because, unless you are working for the gubment, your employer is going to walk in one day and tell you that the company cannot afford to provide you with insurance and you will need to go get your own.

It is happening and will continue to happen.

Obamacare is in a "death spiral' and more insurers will flee in 2018, said Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini Wednesday.

More sick Americans are flocking to the Obamacare exchanges, which is pushing insurers' costs higher, Bertolini said at a Wall Street Journal forum. That, in turn, is forcing carriers to either abandon the market or raise their rates.

Bertolini's comments come on the heels of Humana's (HUM) decision to pull out of the individual market completely in 2018, citing an inability to offer a "viable product."

Meanwhile, Molina Healthcare (MOH), one of the few insurers that has done well in Obamacare, said Wednesday that it may also downsize.

I don't mind paying higher premiums, it's the 21st century and we have the best medical system in the world. People who complain about O care just need to try harder.

I disagree with this. I had Obamacare last year and the price almost doubled from 2016 to 2017. It might work for people who don't work but it will cripple the average middle class workers. Especially the small self employed workers. It just isn't sustainable long term. Now I don't have any idea when it will reach critical mass but eventually it will collapse because people just won't be able to afford it.

So no compassion for those who don't have employer paid premiums? I went on Medicare the first of the month. My and my wife's insurance was thru my ex employer. My part of the premium was about a $160 a month. The wife's premium was $220 a month. Now that I'm no longer affiliated with my past job, the wife is no longer considered a dependent on the company's insurance plan. Her premium jumped up to $965 per month for the same policy even though the deductible increased.

220 out of my pocket one day, 965 the next day. That's why you should care, eventually.

There are many new ways to earn extra income out there. I know lawyers and guys who work in finance that Uber/Lyft a few days a few hours a week to supplement their income. Granted, I don't have children so I'm doing fine paying my premium but if I did I'll be taking on these ride sharing type jobs to earn extra money for stuff like healthcare and private schooling.
