Did the Supreme Court have to rule on something with Obamacare? Now that these recordings have come out it has to make them second guess any rulings in favor of Obamacare fishy.

Yes, they ruled that the they can force people to buy Healthcare or pay. That was declared legal through their power of Taxation.

They are set to rule again on it this summer. The subject is whether or not states that do not have a state run marketplace can receive the subsidies. If they rule against, it will be a major blow to the ACA in terms of popularity. Also Gruber had a quote in one of his videos that was seriously damaging to the dems on this subject.

quote:

"The federal government has been sort of slow in putting out its backstop, I think partly because they want to sort of squeeze the states to do it. I think what’s important to remember politically about this, is if you’re a state and you don’t set up an Exchange, that means your citizens don’t get their tax credits. But your citizens still pay the taxes that support this bill. So you’re essentially saying to your citizens, you’re going to pay all the taxes to help all the other states in the country." -Jonathan Gruber

He's basically telling the states and the Supreme Court how to end Obamacare. This guy is great.

It's pretty damning. However, the words he said will never make it into an opinion.
