Byron York has a piece out that flat out says obamacare is here to stay.
Why?
Because there are 35-40 republicans that have no intention of repealing it. Repealing it is dead in the water. It's not going to happen.
Why?
Because they are scared to death, spineless, hollow politicians. They are scared of taking something away. Obamacare is an entitlement now and once something is an entitlement it cannot be done away with, in their minds. They are looking out for themselves, their own cushy political careers. That supersedes everything.
The republicans have control. They could repeal obamacare. But they won't.
Even though they voted against it in unison when they knew it would mean nothing...now that they can actually repeal it, they won't.
Why?
Because they are weak, ineffective, political hacks.

Yeah, that's pretty much what liberals have been telling y'all for a few years now, but y'all called us stupid.

Liberal politicians are political hacks looking out for themselves as well.
I hold them in no higher regard than the GOPe.
The whole system needs a hot lead enema.

And they are bought. Obamacare is the biggest gift to the health insurance industry.
Obamacare and biotech boost health care stocks

The Spleen
You are one of the most useless posters here.

Bannon and Stephen Miller will check the crony Goldman Sachs capitalists. That is why they are there. Bannon and Miller have their finger on the pulse of the people. Trump won't allow the legislation to drift too far to the crony side...I hope.
ETA: and I know Bannon is a former GS employee.
Bannon and Stephen Miller were responsible for the first travel ban order, which was a complete and utter disaster. I doubt that anyone takes their input on legislation anymore.
They might not be excluded from Trump's ear, but their ability to direct anyone else with regards to writing legislation is certainly diminished.

It is amazing that republicans complain that the tax cut has to be revenue neutral, but not one of these small government republicans have brought up the idea of spending cuts.

Yes there is always spending cuts.
But they never go there. Never. Always spend, spend, spend and spend some more.

So to sum up that article, the authoring of legislation in this country has been completely outsourced to special interests. Now we are left with a congress that lacks any real experience crafting legislation because they've become reliant on outside sources doing their job for them. On the other side we have suppliers of legislation who have suddenly found themselves without a market to dump their shite products.
