re: Why is Papa John's complaining about the $8 million
My friend tried to talk to me about it last night. I basically told him that it's not the guys fault that health insurance is so damn expensive, and people either need to start their own business, not pay themselves for 5 years or so, take on all that financial risk and pay each of their employees health insurance, or, STFU. He then asked me who's should be responsible for paying their health insurance. "The employee if they want it bad enough. If you can't afford the luxury, there are plenty of charities out there that'll help you, and hospitals will work with you if you need some treatment or a procedure."

I'm absolutely sick of the meme that if someone doesn't have health insurance, they're doomed to die on the street. Utter BS.

are you saying employees are simply a statistic?

When you view them as an asset, of course.

he can do whatever he wants, but he's coming off as a real cry baby about this whole thing.

He could have used it as a way to show what the AFA will do to customers and done so in an adult voice instead of sounding like a petulant child

He didn't build it. Barry did.

Well you started this off by saying employees are always a businesses most valuable asset and then start talking about just replacing them with the next dud. So excuse the rest of us for not following if you are for or against papa johns treating their employees like just another expense.

its easily affordable for the company and should be enforced as much as the other rules

Um, no it shouldn't, idiot. It's his business, and affordability is coming from your opinion, not the fiscal reality of it all.

I can't stand you fricking twits that come on here with, "they made millions last year, they can easily afford 1 or 2 million in taxes". There is a thing called profit margin and growth. Those tax increases eat into his profit margin which stifles growth. He can't just eat the cost, because if he does, then he must stop growing, all for the sake of some jackass who can't comprehend basic business practices.

Doesn't qualify you from being a raging jackass.

This is t just about Papa John's havig to pay more to provide healthcare (which will kill his franchises, which is why he is really complaining).

The franchise owners will probably follow Pizza Hut's example and reduce their employees hours to no more than 29 hours/week.

I absolutely enjoy Dr. Walter Williams when he guest hosts on Rush's show. He makes complete sense and it must kill the liberals to hear a black man speak about our society in this manner.

It seems to be only YOU that is not following.

If an employee sucks balls, that's an asset that you're over valuing. (by paying them more than their labor is worth). So if that asset is over valued, you should replace it, therefore, that dunce of an employee is no longer your asset. See?

But in some other instances, I could see the most important assets being property and machinery.

I believe this is true, though I think the amount of instances in which the most valuable assets are property and machinery are probably very low.
