I'd like to pay less taxes, so I can keep more of the money that I earn.

I bet most millionaires feel the same way. But whether they get a tax cut or not is of no consequence to me. If they get to keep more of their money that they earned, my life doesn't change. If the government keeps their money, my life doesn't change.

If seeing another economic group get screwed by the fed adds something to your life, you need to examine your life and your values.

A better question is why is it the segment of our population that pays little or even no income taxes always the ones who complain the most when the taxpayers who do pay a significant amount of taxes get a tax reduction?

I don't know if the poorest complain. I know Democrats in office use phrases like "This is a tax cut for the wealthy", and another post on this board complains that more than half the money from tax reform will go to people who pay a lot in taxes.

I.don't.care.

It's their money, not mine. I have no desire to steal it vicariously through the government.

This why I don’t like it. I will pay more.

I guess if it doesn’t affect you you are cool with it.

That’s a good reason to dislike it. Has nothing to do with what will happen to any other group of people.

you are mistaken, deluded or selling propaganda.

you are part of the whole union.
the union is in debt.

the union may buy another 4 billion frigate
or the union may buy health care for 23 million people.

if we give a trillion to the rich, it is money we cant use to pay down the debt.

How it works is up to the congress.
Two party system is a failure.
Many on td bemoan uni party and the "always more" debt ceiling.

Most of the time they are not on the backs of others. This whole modern conservative notion that you don't have to contribute back to the hole is a little disconcerting.

Whether or not you agree with Socialism or capitalism or whatever, you have to realize that we are all part of the same community. Acting like you earned your money without the help of the country you live in and the people that do all of the work is a little silly.

You guys have all been duped by super wealthy people into believing what you believe, because none of you have the kind of money that would be expected to have this position.

When the hole is a bottomless pit, is what becomes disconcerting.

Re reducing military spending, congress has set it up that the war/defense budget Always increases.
They just decide by how much % to increase. They never cap. They never cut. If talk is if cut, its cutting the increase from xxxxxxxx to xxxxxxx.
