Why do people say that NK will be a nation building war if it happens?

Not to be racist or nothing but these are Asians. I'm pretty sure they'd do just fine. Iraq was totally different in that religion was involved.

I say if we wipe NK we as the USA take half of that land and declare it as annexed give the lower half to SK

Because these are crazy people in a worse state than Mao's China. It's either a genocide or massive restructuring they have no training for. A puppet state will have to be installed when they endorse Western values.

I don't know about that. But i do know, that China will be pissed, because if NK leadership is decimated, then China will be slammed with refugees, and that is one thing China can not support, more people. It's in China's best interest to curb N.Korea's rhetoric.

Are you serious that comes country has absolutely no resources. Of course it's going to be a nation building war when we are the ones destroying the country. I'm not saying it's our fault either in fact it's not.

Between refugees and having the US on their border I expect a China invasion of the North once the fighting begins. They have around 100,000 troop along border now.

After the Allies took a big crap on Germany after Workd War I, we've felt bad about fricking people's shite up. I'll give an exception to the Marshal Plan, as that was designed to prevent communism from spreading into areas not already under the sickle and hammer. Personally I say blow them to hell and back and let the Chicoms deal with it. I'd be glad to give NK to China if it means crazy fat guy no longer has nukes.

NK has even less infrastructure than Iraq did, and I'm pretty sure that poor communist farmers in Asia have a pretty decent history with insurgency warfare.

NK is a lose/lose for SK.
Either they have a fanatical state itching to kill them sharing a border, or they destroy the NK government and end up with a welfare caste that is massive in relative terms to population until, at the minimum, they can be trained to do basic labor.

Post WWII Europe is prime example. Anytime you invade and conquer a nation, expect to be there at least a generation. Even if the Chinese don't cross over, North Korea is in such dismal shape that the South Koreans would never be able to absorb them without outside help.

Tent cities are probably better living conditions than what most Norks currently live in. China will never let the U.S. occupy land along their border. Best case, NK remains sovereign with rebuilding help from all nations and the U.S. can finally pull out of SK.
