Toddy doesn't understand the whole negative rights as to the government of our Constitution.
quote:Thats what I'd like to know. If we already have these laws, what is the point of us signing this treaty? What is our involvement in this?
I have some sympathy for the disabled but they have to be one of the most coddled sub groups of our society already. What the hell could be in this "treaty" that isn't already written into law somewhere else 500 times anyway?
quote:John Kerry, the Treaty's biggest proponent, said it would change nothing in American Law
What the hell could be in this "treaty" that isn't already written into law somewhere else 500 times anyway?
quote:40 million disabled is like 1 in 8 Americans. That sounds like some pretty liberal definition of disabled if so many people qualify. There are more disabled people than there are blacks in the United States if that 40 million number is correct. How many of the 40 million disabled Americans are part of the 40 million Americans who don't have health insurance? Maybe we need a U.N treaty to address them too if we can't trust our own government to pass laws taking care of our sitizens.
This pertains to the 40 million disabled people in this country.

quote: Toddy doesn't understand the whole negative rights as to the government of our Constitution. So George Bush , Bob Dole and the seven Republican senators that voted for this are wanting to shite on the constitution?
