Why are some countries so poor? Culture? Resources? Education? Corruption?

Look at all of the third world countries.
What do they all have in common?
Is a lack of resources and industry the underlying issue of all?
Like Afghanistan. What resources do they have besides poppy seeds?

Resources honestly. There is nothing but desert in Afghanistan

Corruption
Probably 90%+ of their problems.
None of their politicians are struggling.

Resources, corruption, inbreeding leading to low IQs

An innumerable amount of factors. There is no single deterministic variable. Interactions and permutations of factors determine wealth of a country.
For example, the amazon river is so navigable that if you planted it on the north american continent, an oceanliner could travel from boston to denver.
However, the soils around the amazon are so poor that it renders the water useless, and makes it tough to grow food.
The continent of Africa has few inlets, and the waters around its coasts are too shallow for ships to dock. Western europe on the other hand has many inlets, and rivers that are highly navigable, with few cataracts.

All of the above

No one is gonna say it.

Resources honestly
Resources matter, but again, they are not DETERMINISTIC.

It is agreed upon that poor soil and rivers that freeze often and flow to landlocked seas and not oceans are a big reason why eastern europe has lagged behind western europe.

So we can assume West African nations are highly successful?

I think it's a mixture of things, but mostly it's a values driven thing. America is very fortunate that we stemmed from England, and share the same values which are rooted in Judeo Christian beliefs. I attribute most all of our prosperity and liberty to that, and well, the Magna Carta. When you do things right, good things follow you. Similarly, when you don't do those right things and don't aspire to the right, and don't build your house on a solid foundation, bad things follow and continue to follow until you right the ship.

Maybe if some of those countries stopped governing based on religious beliefs they could build a decent economy. Just my opinion though
There are quite a few countries with limited natural resources that do very well.

No one is gonna say it.
Asians come from Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos with a couple dollars in their pockets and ten years later own their own businesses.
Same with many African, Mexican and some Middle Easterners.

most of Africa was made up of colonies as late as 1960. Let's check back in 50 years.
