Why are liberals not called out when they say "Republicans are against immigration"?

Why does nobody call them out when they say we Republicans are against immigration because we are not against immigration, we are against illegal immigration. And there is a huge difference.

I am against immigration
Immigration is like inviting company over. If I was to invite people over, my wife would blow a gasket, unless she had been given the opportunity to get the house in shape
