quote:Balkans was 99% the fault of the church split and the muslim settlement.
Not to mention a lot of the crap that's going on in the Balkans and the ME today.
Because the OP chose the list as he saw fit.
quote:I think the list is solid for the OP's purposes.
And yet you defend who is on the list
quote:I guess I am just not as well educated as you. I defer to your superior intellect and argument.
with complete ignorance.
So based on YOUR reasoning for Jesus being on the list answer the question.
quote:Why have his parents, and not Hitler?
hen why is Jesus on the list but not the parents of the other people on the list who's INNOCENT actions caused horrible events later in time?
It was pretty clear. If Jesus' ACTIONS were the cause for the items you list. Then why is Jesus on the list but not the parents of the other people on the list who's INNOCENT actions caused horrible events later in time?
You still claim "list is solid for the OP's purpose"
The title of the thread is
"figures' actions have had the worst results?"
What actions did Jesus have that was the result of what others did later in time?
By those standards Alfred Nobel may be the most heinous person to ever live. Karl Benz and
Henry Ford have killed more people than many on that list as well.
The DIFFERENCE in that list is that it combines figures that had DIRECT heinous actions and those that did nothing of the sort. Its a list put together to illicit a response on the last name in the list alone.
quote:Me neither, just wanted clarity.
I do NOT want this to be a religion thread.
This is solely about these persons as historical/political figures.
That said, I am a Roman Catholic, so I believe in the Trinity.
quote:considering the Christian God flooded the earth and the non-believers, killing millions of people.
Jesus did nothing of the sort.
his cult did carry out the atrocities of the crusades ya know.
following historical figures' actions
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth... Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy... Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God
But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read?" And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." And he said to him, "You have answered right; do this, and you will live." But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was; and when he saw him, he had compassion, and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; then he set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.' Which of these three, do you think, proved neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?" He said, "The one who showed mercy on him." And Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
Quote the words of Christ demanding that? Maybe you could start with the one where he says ye without sin cast the first stone. You are confusing the actions of those He came to save from themselves from Christ Himself. That's like blaming water for someone drowning as a result of a man holding another man's head under water. Man IS THE PROBLEM.
quote:God's book is full of lies?
I am impressed you believe in the literal word of the Old Testament.
quote:You were wrong.
And here I thought you were an atheist.
If you believe that, feel free to vote for E.
Cult? You fricking idiot

i find it quite funny you get so upset over this apparent affront to Jesus and Christianity but say nothing about the exact same statements being applied to Mohammed and Islam.
