Where does the ACLU stand on gun control now??

Are they staying clear of this issue or have they picked a side?

It's this new thing called the internet. You can find a lot of great information if you get off of your lazy arse and look for it.

#1. You linked something from July of 2008, which I have already seen. Things certainly could have changed since then without an update on their website.

#2 You have not helped at all and have reaffirmed my opinion that this board is worthless today.

#3 Why the hell would I have to get up to look something up on the internet?

Try reading it again. Then, you might realize that their long-standing position is that gun legislation isn't a civil rights issue. What about recent events would change that position?

Is the ACLU about civil rights or civil liberty? They are not the same.

The ACLU disagrees with the Supreme Court's conclusion about the nature of the right protected by the Second Amendment. We do not, however, take a position on gun control itself. In our view, neither the possession of guns nor the regulation of guns raises a civil liberties issue.

I was sloppy with my word choice. I apologize.
