He asked if it was the God Emperor's fault...
it reminded me of this clip:

Trump - Obi-wan Kenobi
MSM - Anakin Skywalker
public - Padme

The media views themselves as unaccountable and free to drive their agenda. They are incapable of responsible journalism and it is high time that their lack of standards and professionalism be called out.

They need to just report rather than create news.
All networks are too selective in their stories depending on who is involved, and how their verbiage in headlines vary depending on those involved is painfully obvious too.
They feel their job is to steer the American public not inform them.

The thing about the media is you have to look at the corporations that own the media outlets. They do what benefits the corporation rather than tell the truth.

I know, and I have no clue what the solution is. The media outlets are about profits, and they are owned by people, people with interests/bias. Government run media isn't the answer either obviously.
I guess competing private networks is the best way, but with the way technology and social media are progressing we get the media war we have now.
We need a balance in competing private networks. Right now the MSM is mostly left. Maybe the "battle" going on now is just the left trying to keep the right from gaining equal footing. Is that why the major networks on the left created "fake news?" To undermine the growing conservative competition?

Do their piss poor ratings not matter to them? Clearly, it's not affecting their ad revenue enough to matter. That's the only say the average citizen has and it's just ignored.

Concise, eloquent...and therein unworthy of this Board.

No. Journalism is inherently left wing. It attracts leftists. If media outlets wanted to make money on news they would fill a niche like Fox which makes tons more money than CNN.

i've been off the MSM train for a while, but when the headlines ran "Iranians protest America, Trump" in 2017 and said "Iranians protest America" in 2014, 2015, 2016 i had given up hope of the media learning the lesson.
